Status Ailments/Buffs

I really don't like how you can have one status ailment/buff for each character and how a stat boost is counted in the status bar.  I want to know how you can stack several different status boosts.  Such as in MMORPGS you can stack several different skills simultaneously but since the status buffs and status ailments both have to share the "States" database, one will cancel out the other in battle.  Can I fix this?  I think this should be solved with a script but I'm not sure.
 
States are stackable by default, though only the top priority status effect will be showing. This is controlled with Rating in the States tab. If a state has rating set to 10, and another 8, the one with 10 will appear if both are applied.

Setting rating to 0 will disallow the state to ever appear in the status menu.

So your idea of the states cancelling is wrong if this is for RMXP (no mention of which application, which is very much required for us to know for sure).
