Well personally, I'm going to say the next FF they remake is 5, because if you think about it, they've done 1+2 on PSP, 3+4 on DS, so it's only natural to assume 5 is next in line... lol.

Hmm HOPEFULLY it isn't a remake, and something original, since I'm fed up of SquareEnix being so bloody popular, when all they've done so far is make remakes of old games... DAMN YOU JAP BASTARDS, WE DON'T WANT REMAKES, WE WANT NEW GAMES !**

If it's a FF5/6/7 remake, i'll be very happy. If it's a FFVIII remake i'll jizz my pants... twice. Pretty unlikely it will be a VIII remake though. I'm hoping for a VII remake and hope that in a few years they'll make a VIII remake as well. (Yes, i'm a VIII fanboy)

I agree with Ven, VIII was absolutely terrible... I've had better shits than that game, lol. I thought everything about it was just terrible to be honest. Then again, I really despise VII too, I thought that is the most overrated RPG of all time, everyone says it's amazing, when, to me, it clearly isn't... If you want the best Final Fantasy, go play bloody FFIV, FFIX or FFX (My three faves, lol) and you'll see how a story is told !

PS. A Final Fantasy IX remake with next-gen graphics would be fucking amazing (Although the graphics were fucking awesome for PS1 anyways, and I mean, it isn't even 10 years old yet, lol)

FF VIII has always had a place in my heart, but it was my first RPG, so I think that may be more sentimentality than any real commentary on how good the game was. I mean, what the heck was the deal with Ultimecia? Random much? Overall, I've found that in spite of a few hiccups over the years, the various installments of FF have always been worth playing. 'Course, that's just me, and I've always been easy to please.

Oh, I lied. Mario RPG was my first one. Now that was a great game.

I believe it's a remake of FF5. I went to the countdown site and behind the large numeral one, there was a faint, glowing shadow of what looked like a large roman numeral "V".
It's my guess.
