Sucks.

Naw, just kidding. Its good, but fix the hair. It seems too blocky at the moment, and you forgot the bangs! :O

I dunno about the bangs. It'd be hard to show bangs+scar on such a small sprite.

I would argue, though, that you have consistency problems with the hair - you can see definite bangs on the side views, but the front walking poses have his bangs off to his sides. Don't forget to shade under the hair, in any case.

I also feel like there's way too much dithering. It's almost RTP size, there's not really any ROOM for dithering. Just use an in-between color in its stead. Also, there should be NO dithering whatsoever in the scar. I think a solid two-pixel-width line would suffice.

On that note, there's a big boo-boo concerning the scar - it looks like you copy-pasted the forward walking sprite, but didn't correct the scar flip, so now it slopes differently in the top-right sprite in relation to any of the other ones.

All in all, though, it's a strong start, and it's nice to see RTP-ish sprites with longer legs. It's funny to see serious sprites hobbling around on little stumpy things. :P

The hair is flat like his head is a box with a round top. Spriting hair is hard but you need to ad spikes to fluff it up a bit. Looking at a reference picture, squall has hair that goes down the sides of his face that comes out under his bangs. Thats a feature you should add to the side view.

The clothes are good but you can barely see his belt. Also his face is streched in a couple of the frames on the side view, giving him a flat face.
