Spyware help

my computer keeps pooping up with links for spyware blockers/removers. Every piece of antivirus software i have and trust identifies these as threats if i try to install them. How can i stop them from pooping up? They pop up from the notification area btw, as well as in IE. Can anyone help?

Sounds more like you've downloaded a nasty piece of software / porn and it's infected your system files (Isn't a good thing). The best work around would be killing the entire operating system and starting a new. An alternative would be to run an Anti-Spyware program such as Adaware or Spybot. Also try running these programs in safe mode (Including your Anti-virus applications).

It could be any of the three most common infections (Spyware, Trojan, Virus).

Safe Mode
>Before the windows boot screen, hit F8.

Adaware was one of the ones i used, but I've resolved this now. Apparently a program titled Windows Safety Alert that i noticed had appeared in my add/remove programs list had been causing it.

Um, as the previous guy said, re-installing the OS is the most effective way. once you get an infection like that, i's less than likely that you'll completely eradicate it.

If you're bent on not re-installing your OS, i suggest kasparsky anti-virus, and ewidow anti-spyware.
