Spriting

I'm a complete noob at spriting, I've never tried it before. How hard is it, and what is some stuff i need to know to do it? I already have paint, and I know that is what you can sprite with.

I would recomend downloading Paint.NET for spriting.  You can do so much more with it.  Basic spriting and pixelling can be pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

I'll stay away from telling you which program to use/not use, but Paint is honestly a horrible choice. You CAN sprite with it, but it's much easier to do so in a better program.

You can use Paint.NET, or GraphicsGale, an awesome program designed EXPRESSLY for spriting.

If you want to learn to sprite, well, it takes time, much like any other art form.
I'd recommend looking through the Tutorials forum and finding some spriting tutorials in there.

Thanx, is graphics gale a good program that wont give me viruses or anything and is it illegal

I don't really care for GG, but it won't give you viruses and it's completely legal.  We don't allow illegal software here.

Well, obvs this kid is clearly a beginner. I mean, you CAN handle paint if you know what you're doing, but odds are he doesn't.
Not that I'm knocking Paint, I use it for small edits all the time. I'm just not sure I'd be capable of doing a full piece on it, is all.

I can vouch for Graphics Gale too, it's incredibly easy to use and very capable. (I'm new to pixel art too.  :tongue
