i uploaded a new sprite with all movement directions but for some reason when i test play the game the sprite cycles through all the movment sprites automatically how do i fix this problem

Is the sprite a npc or the player?

That's a tough one. Maybe you have an event somewhere that forces the player to move? I suggest checking the events on your maps.

naw that can't be i started a new project cause i wanted to use this sprite, all i did was create a new grass map very plain

no events on the map what so ever,

this is very odd

That's very, very odd. Could you post the sprite?

Also, are you using any scripts? They'd make a difference.

It's possible you put something in the wrong order in regards to the order of the frames.
