Springline[Game Maker]

Overview: Springline is a puzzle platformer. You have to get to a star to pass to the next level. You can move horizontally and vertically with the arrow keys. You initially have a low jump power, but if you hold the spacebar when you land, the jump power increases. The overall concept relies on knowing when and when you do not increase the jump power, and to act according to your jump power. Springline takes the thrill and emotion of platformers, but also takes the difficulty and problem-solving of puzzle games.

Contains only 3 levels. They are difficult to beat.

This may be the first game I've heard of, that's a platformer puzzle game... on a pogo stick!

I'm going to try this right now, since I have free time again, yay!

Right, so I've played it, I like the premise of the game, however the gameplay could be a little smoother, from what I could tell, you can't be moving left or right while adjusting your height, you have to be stood still, not much of a problem, but if you could find a way to do it while moving, it'd be great! Also, maybe you could add a button that lets you lower your jump height too? It was a little hard on the first level especially, because if you made your height a little TOO high, you'd get hit by the spikes, and you can only go higher, so I think being able to lower it too would be so much better!

Also, another thing: Could you maybe zoom in on the game, by that I mean make the screen and resolution atleast 2x bigger, everything is so small! You can do it on the room options if I remember, not sure what you do since I haven't used Game Maker in a while now, lol. But I definitely think it'd suit a bigger window!

Overall though, it was quite fun, although I got fustrated in some parts, lol... you should definitely make more levels!
 
Thanks for the feedback. Weird, I am able to increase the jump power AND move horizontally. I think there's a problem with
the coding. I'm sorry, but I want to stick with the concept of not letting the player lower the jump power, because many of the levels I have made so far, the difficulty release on how you manage to move with a high/low jump power, but I can change the first level so it's not THAT frustrating.
 
Added one more level! Fixed some things according to the feedback recieved.
You can use the shift button to retry, but you will lose the gems you collected in the level you are in.
If you didn't collect any gems, you lose half of the gems you have, and if you have only 1, it goes to 0.
If you die or try again when you have 0 gems, you make a Game Over.
