The only thing that I really want to know is why the Oceanic 6 picked Boone, Libby, and Charlie to be the guys that died after the fake crash... (note that the all of them have appeared after their real deaths o_O)
I think it was probably due to sacrifice more than anything else. Boone died attempting to make contact on the radio plane, and Charlie died in the Looking Glass attempting to contact the freighter. In a way, they're acknowledging that - but they can't admit it happened... Then there's Libby... I hope she pops up as one of Hurley's "I see dead people" things in the next season. ;_;
Or maybe it was just that both Boone and Charlie are "big figures" in the 'real world", and Libby had to be there to set up a season five storyline...involving Libby's origins, you know, who she was. Apparently the theory that she's Dharma isn't far off. But then they cut it. :\
Did I miss a reference with the Jeremy Bentham thing? When I saw it I thought there must be something I had forgotten; or is that just Locke's fake name for the situation?
Much like Ben used fake names when travelling off the Island, that is what Locke is also doing. Jeremy Bentham is also a name of a philospher, like John Locke: Bentham spent a lot of time criticising Locke's political philosophy. In a way, there is a thematic link between the character's evolution into what he has become.
They're going to have to bring season five forwards. I really can't wait this long. And I want more filler. I felt Season Four was going too quickly - bloody writer's strike.
