Introduction
Source is my game which mainly focuses on scripts, being as that is my area of expertise. Source is set in a fairly typical rpg pre-industrial age world.

Story
Lif was a researcher for an organisation called "The Core Institute" and primary carer of his youngest brother Garm, however one day Lif made Garm gather only what he needed and they left. They spent the next few months moving from town to town not staying more than a couple days, Lif refused to explain why they were doing this everytime Garm asked. Eventually just before the game starts they stayed in a town called "Teskia" for several weeks, where Lif seemed to be waiting for something, eventually Lif revealed he'd been waiting for a letter, and they now have a safe place to go to and explained that they left the institute because he was asked to do research which he found completely un-ethical. However they'd waited too long for that letter and several enemies are pursuing them...

Garm
"Your weakness is my talent, I learn."
Battle Skills: Attack, Techniques, Research, Item
The youngest of three brothers and was cared for by his oldest brother since he can remember. He was often asked to research things by Lif (his oldest brother) and learned to estimate HP and SP of enemies aswell as skills of theirs that he could learn.

Lif
"I may not be a natural but I work hard."
Battle Skills: Double Attack, Physical Arts, Psychic Arts, Item
The oldest of the three brothers and also the least likely to resort to violence. During his research he found a way to make himself develop telekinetic abilities and is mocked by some people being as normally you have to be born with psychic powers and his are viewed as weak at best.

Karen
"Your name is strange."
Battle Skills: Attack, Copy, Mimic, Item
A young woman who is a prisoner at a collosium, and enjoys boasting that no strategy can beat her or anyone weaker. She particularly likes judging people by their name and appearence, for example she gives Lif the nickname "Psycho".

The next characters only join on certain story paths.

Dara
"You are as far from understanding art as I am from being a normal person."
Battle Skills: Sketch, Gallery, Paint , Item
An artist whose only ambition is to surpass his teacher (who is blind). Unlike his teacher Dara chooses to express his art in paintings, his teacher prefers long term art and makes impressive sculptures despite his handicap, they often clash about the definition of art.

Guy
"Your training could be improved...Seriously."
Battle Skills: Double Attack, Special Attack, Drop Training, Item
Guy is the definition of training, he even builds his own training equipment. If he feels that he can't win he can casually throw of his training items and use his full-power in battle.

Osso
"Un-armed? Me? You must not know me very well."
Battle Skills: Attack, Bone Growth, Skeleton Puppet, Item
Osso (how are your languages? It means Bone) is a very demanding companion, dis-honouring any deceased person is enough to gain his hatred. He hides many secrets and is linked to "The Core Institute" and admits his unusual talents are because of that link he has.

My barrier script originates from this game Lif can create a psychic barrier to protect him from physical attacks.
Oh and ignore the name of the game in the screenshots, I decided I wanted an english name.

In the last one you can see the hp and sp of the enemy.
Also he can look out for the enemies special attacks and if he sees them while looking for them he can learn them.

Dara's battle commands, sketch isn't shown anywhere in these screenshots, it basically makes a copy on the enemy and has it attack them (or in scripting terms target.attack_effect(target)).

Yay a painting if you use it a copy of that enemy will perform one of it's skills for you. The copy will only have 60-80% of the original's power though due to the quality of the painting, a perfect painting is naturally much better.
Well you basically win a fight and based on difficulty and what you did determines whether your stats increase.

Note: I have chosen to not show any of Guy's abilities in the tech demo mainly because they still need balancing and tidying up, Osso also has had one of his battle functions made unusuable in the demo being as it needs completing and gives errors sometimes. The party is limited to 3 characters in the actual game but nothing stops you from adding another one in the demo.

I liked how when you paint the baddie you can see his heath.
I didn't pay all the way thru though because the first battle was taking way to long to finish :\
i like how its coming along though!

No you researched him to see the health and you probably picked the boss battle the normal enemy I put on that map only had 100 HP, and you also missed out on seeing the stat levelling system but you can see it in the screenshots anyway. Thanks for playing it and leaving feedback though.

To the people who played it, were the battles too easy? Just I'm trying to make the game harder than an average one.
 
Although this may be a necropost, I don't care. This game looks interesting if you could please re-upload the tech demo as I would like to try it out. Kthxbai
 
The file get's deleted after 30 days of no downloads, i've restored it same link.
In future if anyone wants to try this can you pm me about the link rather than bump this topic.
