So I've been stewing this little idea in my head for a while...

Concept:
You ever been walking down the road and you pass someone you feel like you know? You ever met someone you think you've seen before but can't quite remember were? Have you ever met that perfect someone, your soul mate?
I'm on a quest to find myself, and I don't mean to better my spirit...

What i'm gonna tell you is crazy. It dosn't just sound crazy, it is crazy. So, at the dawn of time when we were all little floating particles and shit, something or someone gave us a perfect gift, the soul. Now don't take my word as gospel, but from what I know the story of Adam and Eve is the closest to the truth we have. The story goes that after those two pisspots bit into the fruit we became different from the animals, we had the knowledge of Good and Evil, we had a soul. See thats what the soul is, its the ability to think ahead and love and all that good and fluffy shit. Of course the thing that made us was pissed! He wanted us to move and do, not think and create. So it sent us away and introduced us to torment. A little while after (a couple thousand years or so) a bunch of these soulful people thought, "Hey, why the hell can't we live in a happy shiney place like we used to, lets build something to touch the face of the creator!" Course the big Kahuna didn't like this idea so he did the unthinkable. He stated that from here on out the soul would be broken. He said that the sons of the men would get half of his soul when they were born. And so we were split.

The catch is the pieces of our soul are wandering around in other people. Thats why we feel conections with certain people around us. This means you can never reunite your soul to its full form, due to one soul being in like a thousand people at once.
There is an exception to this, however. Once every one-thousand years 12 people are gifted with 1/12th of a soul. This gives them power. If they can reunite their soul, they will be the most powerful being in the universe. But with all things theres a catch. During this chosen one's life, the souless will have direction, trying to stop the 12 from meeting. They will do this subtly untill the first three meet. Then all hell breaks loose...

And thats why I have to find my soul. To heal the earth and all that. This time its worse. A guy named Joshua apparently reunited his soul 1000 years ago and this time the demons are going to do everything in there power to stop me. All I have to go by is that I will feel conected these people.
And what am I gonna do when I find these pieces? Put a stop to this forever...

The Soulless (Enemies)

The soulless? You wana know 'bout those bastards? Well re-winding back to Adam and Eve they had two sons, Kain and Abel. They were both born with the shards of the soul. But Kain got more of it. He got passion out the ass. Angry passion that led to the death of Abel (death? more like blunt force trauma!) and Kains exile. Anyway the All Powerful thought, what the hell, lets give these guys another shot, so he "gifted" Adam and Eves next son, Seth, with no soul. Obliviously though the guy with passion got *WAY* more pussy than groveling Seth, so the population is mostly soulful. But every once and awhile a child of Seth is born.

I was actually interested while reading the story, until I got to the;

That just increased the cliché level over 9000 ! (Indeed.)

I mean, I know you're trying to give the story an objective, this guy has to find the other parts of his soul, but it just seems so cliché with the demons stopping them from meeting, isn't there any other way you could go with this ? Cause thats all I see that's spoiling it.

And a question, when he finds all these pieces of soul inside people, what happens to the other eleven people, because if they have his soul pieces, and he gets them back, won't they be emo and have no soul ? Explain please.

Hmmm... Any suggestions instead of the demons? I couldn't think of any other antagonists that would fit into the religeous theme well. Mabye I could explain a soulless creature, but that is cliche to.

As for what will happen to them, its a point of much speculation through the game. None of the characters really know whats going to happen when they are all reunited. I was going to throw in a Judas like betrayal later on because one of the characters was afraid of the outcome.
