Sony Vaio PCG-7Y2L

Okay, my Sister has posed a question to me.  Is the DVD Drive on a Sony Vaio PCG-7Y2L Laptop replaceable.  As i don't have the laptop on hand, I don't know if it uses a standard SATA or Slim SATA connection.  Does anyone here know which it uses?  I would rather not purchase a new drive for her without knowing.

It is a SATA, right? It should be replaceable, you just need to find something that fits in there, and works with your tray/case type, or your slot loader. SuperDrive ftw

Well, as I said, I don't have the laptop on-hand.  I was hoping that someone here would know if it uses Standard or Slimline SATA drives.

Google the product number, you should be able to find a detailed list of replacement parts if you dig hard enough. Usually they're posted in relatively obscure places either on the manufacturer's site or on part warehouses.
