Some stupid scenery drawing I made in school

During school, I tend to use free time by drawing on a piece of line paper. One of the drawings I've made is this side-view, futuristic/fictional city that popped in my mind. It took me about 3 in-class days of inconsistent working to finish it, I would estimate about 30 minutes if done consistently. Keep in mind that I know the lines going across look ugly, and that I know that it's not the best thing in the whole wide world, but I felt like I put some effort into it so I'm posting it here.

I was considering on coloring it in photoshop, but I don't really want to try it because the version I have is way too outdated. ':|

I don't understand what you mean here? The kind of thing you'll be using photoshop for here is available in most versions. What version do you use?

That's very good. Not sure about the road thought, if it's a scenery...well, now you just have to colour it in pc :)

It's cute <3.

The divider-lines on the road are too fat in comparison to the width of the road, and the perspective is off in some places, and I wish the lines were cleaner, but it reminds me of the parallax backgrounds in 2D Sonic games and ya gotta love that :'D

Version 5.0 LE

@Venetia: The backgrounds from the sonic games is where I honestly got the inspiration. I've always loved how the technology looks like and I wish Sonic Team would go back to that. ':|

About the road... Yeah, I didn't really do my best with that. Maybe I should have made the dividers smaller, or just get rid of them entirely?

Well making the road-divider-lines thinner and smaller would be the ticket, considering the angle and zoom. (They are typically about 6 inches wide by about 3 feet long, that's approximate, don't quote me, and road lanes are generally 9-12 feet wide, so they need to compensate for that size ratio.)

Also the perspective is off on those dome-bubble thingys that look like houses from the Jetsons. They're straight-side-view while everything else is top-down … partially. It doesn't look like you can do much about that now, if I'm right in thinking that's charcoal, but it's just a note.

Other than the road and the perspective issues, the shading is very nice in this new version, however, like my art teachers always b!tch about, it needs more dark values, there are too many midtones :')

(That means dark-dark, with rich blacks instead of just at outlines.)
