old stuff

These are pillowshaded to hell. Also, you need to work on those colors, especially on the Iron Man sprite. You need to learn how to make certain spots pop out, soit doesn't look like it does now: flat stickman style. Well, you did ask for crits.
Also, don't expect instant feedback regardless of how many people viewed it. It doesn't really do much else than make you sound impatient. I'm not being rude, but still.

i did ask for crits, dont worry about it, i see what you mean now that youve pointed it out well atleast for most of them, i actually like how the master chief looks and the banjo was made to look like that intentionally, as far as all the others go though i agree with your opinion and im working on them right now, but as far as expecting instant feedback, it wasnt all that instant i posted this up yesterday morning and no one bothered to post all day yesterday, so when i looked at it today i was surprised not a single person told me how it looked.

1. Don't expect people to reply to your topic within the first day of posting.
2. Nobody would want to use these, they look pretty terrible.
3. Why did you sprite over existing sprites instead of using one of the many, many RTP templates available?
4. Those sprites don't even look close to the sprites that you pixelled over and in-fact they don't resemble the RTP style much at all!
5. wtf is the fifth one supposed to be anyway???
6. Please check out some tutorials on how to sprite. @_@

1.Fine, i wont, i can see people dont get around to posting as quick as they used to.
2. I never asked if anyone wanted to use them, i made these for my use, and gee thanks its great to see such friendly folk on these forums nowadays
3.Because thats how i like doing it, i use something with a similar color base or shape and morph it to my needs, im sorry if thats not how YOU do it, but thats how i like doing it
4.They aren't supposed to look at all like the sprites i used as a base, why would i be trying to do that?
5.Its a jabbawockee, if you dont know it doesnt matter
6. Ill pass, thats not constructive the least bit, you should tell me what to fix instead of putting it down

i find it funny that you just completely shot down the sprites and gave zero constructed criticism
Please check out some tutorials on being a well mannered moderator

lol i dont have to act any differently when posting just because im a mod, silly

It seems I misinterpreted one of your posts. I thought you said that you WEREN'T asking for crits. My bad.(Although they DO look atrocious)

3.Because thats how i like doing it, i use something with a similar color base or shape and morph it to my needs, im sorry if thats not how YOU do it, but thats how i like doing it

OBJECTION! Sorry, but that looks to be a rather obvious contradiction right there.

6. Ill pass, thats not constructive the least bit, you should tell me what to fix instead of putting it down

Ok, um, that was quite possibly my least abrasive point. It would benefit you GREATLY to read some tutorials on how to sprite. Or even some pixelling tuts(I'd recommend both). I can't really tell you what all is wrong with these, in technical terms, because I'm not a spriter and I have next to no talent with anything like this. BUT, I can tell that these sprites look very bad and you should learn how to make them look not-bad, and the fastest way to do that is by way of a tutorial on this subject.

Lastly, please try not to get so defensive. Sure, my comments(really only point #2) weren't exactly the most constructive, but surely you can take criticism better than this, yes?

Oh and using the new imgzoom tag for your images will make critiquing them so much easier, you know.

i took king of red pancakes tips more or less, they might still need some touching up, but ill leave that untill you guys find the mistakes so i can fix them, because im satisfied with how they currently look. but chances are when you guys point out something else ill want to go fix em

Edit: i actually dont really like how the jabbawockeez hat looks, but i dont know how to go about shading that thing? any tips? its not a normal hat btw

I think doing what Luminer said previously might help. By reading some tutorials you can work over some of these and learn like you want to about shading things such as the Jabba's hat. I began by slowly working with the many tutorials that are on this forum alone.

Also i reccomend if you want these to be used or if you want to have them blending with any sort of work you do in XP to use a template. Alot of the shading and coloring issues you have can be fixed by doing these two things because at the moment they are really kind of flat and wierdly proportioned.
