Hello everyone,

I'm Jesse (Soggy), I'm from Texas in the United States, I've been studying and attempting to make games since 2003. I'm 19 years old, my birthday is January 7th, 1990. My family comes from Czech Republic, although I was born in America and I don't speak Czech. When I was in middle school my friend got me hooked into making games so that's how I found out about RPG Maker and other game makers, ever since then I got into 3D modeling, Visual Effects, Concept drawing and design. I spent a year with 3D studying its "Ins and Outs" and then spent a year studying video game design, then a year studying concept drawing and after that I started getting heavily into all of the categories trying to better myself. A drama point in my life kind of changed things a bit for me, and at that time I joined the US Marines back in January 2009, I left for boot, 3 months later came back home for 10 days then started my Marine Combat Training, after graduating from there I flew to North Carolina for my MOS schooling where I'm waiting for class to pick up. Right now I'm in North Carolina on Camp Lejuene, when I'm not working I work on designing a 2D single player game. I'm not going to say I have an actual project going just yet, I want to finish some design documents and concept before I even suggest that idea. Some programs I know are Photoshop, 3dsmax, Houdini, Movie Studio and Dreamweaver, I know some more but I wouldn't say I'm that experienced with them. I enjoy playing Counter Strike when I'm in the mood for playing a game. That's about all I can really think of off the top of my head about me, here's some questions and answers.

What is your history with RPG Maker and the RPG Maker Community?
- When RPG Maker 2003 came out, that's the first taste of RPG Maker I had, I tried out the trial and thought it was pretty neat, then I got into making games with other engines and studying how games are made.
What is your field of expertise in RPG Maker?
- I actually don't think I have an expertise in RPG Maker because I haven't used it since 2003 and all I did was simple game introductions while my trial lasted with the standard RTP, with the skills that I do have I'd probably say the Designing and Graphics are my field of expertise with RPG Maker though since I'm an Artist and a Designer. :)
How did you find the forums?
- I was searching on google for a "RPG Maker Gamers Forum" and this looked promising, I saw the .org and I was set.
What you hope to get out of the forum?
- I really hope to make friends, get help when needed and learn from others so I can better myself and my projects and pass on that knowledge to others in need of help or assistance as well.
What kind of creative talents do you have (outside of RPG Maker)?
- I'm an experienced artist with 2D and 3D programs also at drawing, I studied game theory and design for years.
What are your hobbies or interests?
- I'm enlisted into the US Marines so I don't have much time out of the day (for now) but I get a few hours after work to go and do what I want and weekends off. On my time off I like to watch movies, or work on my projects If I get the chance.
What kind of music do you listen to?
- I listen to generally everything except the sub genres from the main genres, like Rock, Metal, Hip Hop & R&B, Techno and Orchestral.
What level of education are you in? What are you studying in college?
I'm in my MOS Schooling right now, I have a year of college completed, I'm studying Business and Art in college, I'm going to try going to Fullsail University maybe in a few years and see what they have to offer me.

Awesome Bro

Holy shit on a stick, this is the best introduction thread I've seen, congratulations on that, you win a beer ! :cheers:

Welcome to the forums, have fun and enjoy your stay with us :biggrin:

Question; Which maker do you use currently, because on your history etc. it says you haven't used it sinec 2003 ? Does that mean you still don't use the actual RM programs, or am I missing something ?

Thanks.

Thank you, glad to be here. :)

@jbrist
Thank you, ^^ I just purchased RPG Maker XP the other night when I was talking to my friend about starting a project and he suggested RPG Maker XP, so I'm fairly new with it and all the knowledge I have of it is from my previous history of usage with RPG Maker 2003. :) It's been about 5-6 years since I've used RPG Maker so this should be interesting.

Awesome Bro

Ah, well I think the majority of the people here use RMXP over any of the others anyway, so you'll get a whole heap of support an answers to any questions you might have, lol.

Welcome :D Seconded by JBrist, you definitely sound like an interesting member.

We've got a little bit (or a lot) of most everything to offer most people doing RMing....not only straight resources but tutorials, support forums, loads of feedback forums, and non-RMing forums as well. Take your time and look around! :)

Thank you, I'll try to stay away from asking too many questions, I'll be the good newbie and read other peoples questions similar to mine before posting up one. ;-)

@Zeriab
Thank you for your warm welcome :) *hugs back*

@Tindy
Thank you, I can't wait to start learning :D I'll try my best to help people with what I know about.
