Sockets: vb6 to vb2008

I'm using Visual Basic 2008 (express), and am using an online tutorial for making a simple IRC client.

Unfortunately the guide is for Visual Basic 6, and apparently that doesn't work the same.

It says:

wsConnect - ( CTRL + T and add Microsoft Winsock Control 6.0 )#

Ctrl T does nothing, and I can't find anything for a Winsock control.

Anyone have any ideas what to do?
