I like it, and the tutorial is very helpful. I think I would do without the shadows or at least make them less opaque, but it's a personal taste thing not something you did wrong so ignore it if you want.

That's actually a pretty decent tutorial, although I'd skip step one, as I go straight to the outlines, The sword (In the tutorial) actually looks really nice and you've hardly had to shade it, lol.

These are very nice pieces, Greenraven. They are far superior to your tutorial works. Simple is better. I particularly like the sword.

thanks man. Well the icons in that little tutorial thing were supposed to look simplistic yet good with minimum effort. The tutorial can be applied in many ways.

And I never take enough time to pixel. The icons on top were made in a couple of seconds.

My real Critique:

I don't really like the color of the Cross-guard on the sword, and the shape could use a little bit of work(the perspective seemed a bit off). It seems to curve downward, and gives an orange-y effect. I used a gold color and reshaped it a bit:
