Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

So, I'm back doing this...

Hey everyone. I guess I'll be new to most of you so I'm gonna introduce myself anyway, although older people might remember me as one of the admins over at LRPGM when it was still around. Or even from when I came on here a little while back, when RMXP just started getting popular.

I started using RPG Maker again the other day so I thought joining one of the bigger communities would be a good idea. I still use RM2K (I prefer it's simplicity over any of the additions RMXP has to offer, and I don't like RGSS) but I think I have a decent enough knowledge to help other people when I can. I'm a half-decent spriter and (not to sound egotistical...) a damn good mapper, so I'll probably try and help with those most. Obviously, making maps for people on RMXP will be difficult for me since I don't own a copy of it, but I will help those who want tips on improving their maps etc.

Anyway, away to lurking.

Welcome/Welcome back. I don't remember you, you must have been from the .net days. If only I was back then; anyway welcome back, it's always good to get some older people back!

Heya :D I've only been around for a little while, as I recently became an actual member of the community (rather than stealing resources from unsuspecting members).

If you're working on a project, you should post the specs on it and I can give you some constructive criticism :D I'm pretty good at that.

And if you're looking to help people out with mapping techniques, my mapping could certainly use some help, so look forward to your opinion being requested eventually.

why would you go back to lurking if you are posting a welcome thread

Force of habit? I only comment when I have something relevant to say, which isn't too often.

I was working on a project a while ago, but I lost the whole thing in a combination of my laptop deciding it needed reformatting and losing a pendrive. Very stupid of me. I don't really have a good idea for a new project, but I usually lean towards modern-based worlds and collecting together the "future" resources I had before would be dificult. You'd think sci-fi resources would be more common. Ah well.
