The white specks are supposed to give off a "paint peeling metal" type of feel, which was done to make it look more junky.
 
Whew! School Finals and other upcoming events in my life are going to slow me down from production, but I've started some more stuff that I'm just dying to post.

I've gotten two out of the twenty-two facesets for Slimy done. That is a "neutral" expression and a "sad" expression. Yeah I've got a heck more work to do. :(

Yes, I'm following the glorious trend of using Moghunter's "Scene Menu" script, thanks to khmp for helping me get this the way I want. As you can see, the design looks very simplistic, yet it took me well over half an hour to get everything in the right position and in the end, I still had to go back and make some touch-ups. Oh well, what you make will always come out looking bad when you make it for the first time, fact of life, unfortunately. :P
The terrible, transparent facesets; the cursor and the HP/SP/EXP/LV bars are all placeholders at this time.

Keep in mind, this not only one of the first tilesets I've ever committed to making, but it's still a work-in-progress. Because it is still in the making, using this tileset in its current state would be an utterly pointless waste of downloading time. I'm not a very good spriter, as you may see, so any type of helpful advice on how to improve this is welcome. I would also like to give credit to Colormagix, since at one point I got a bit lazy and used the palettes off of her site.

About this tileset: This is a "special" tileset set aside for a "special" stage feature that I'm going to have in my game, Slimy the Sahagin. The design is intended to be a little surreal, and I intend this to work with a Mode7 script.

Great battlers. I approve of people drawing their own goofy looking things instead of using RTP or existing serious looking japanese battlers.

I came up with a "jumper" object similar to that of the sonic games.

These are the props for the "special stage" feature of the game. I could give you an unofficial run-down of what each object is for in my game:

Blue Sphere: What you need to collect in order to complete the stage.
Red Sphere: Touching these will warp you out of the stage.
White Sphere with Star: I intended it to work as a bumper which makes you go backwards, though I don't know how to implement that with XP as of yet.
Yellow Sphere with Exlcamation Mark: Touch these, and you'll get a surprise item.
Green Sphere: Touching it will make you jump forward ten paces, great for avoiding traps.
Black Sphere: A bomb which I don't really know what to do with yet. I'm thinking of either deducting an HP bar made specifically for the special stage, and when that bar runs out you'll be warped out.
Gold Coin: Touch this and you'll get 10 Zobiates (currency).
 
New monster battlers to be added.
My progress is going so slow I kind of feel like  :cry: and while making these I was feeling like  :tongue2: but in the end I was  :lol:

Slimy is rather amazing and cute. Amazingly cute.  :3

I also like the Stone Crawler, with those cracks on the stone and his red eye~!

Ratty, these resources are REALLY good. I especially like the very creative battlers/monsters. I'm a sucker for that "cutesy" style for some reason, and your style is just so appealing.
Also, I can't wait to play your game because it looks so original.
I hope you continue to make more of those monsters, I really like them.  :grin:

@Denko: Thanks. I haven't really made much plans on how many monsters/enemies to include to my game, I just try to imagine "what would work best here", "here" being the areas that I have in mind in the game. Also, I'm kind of into RPGs that have something unique about it's gameplay and not too serious (yet not too goofy either), which would explain why I'm going for a more cartoony design with these resources.
