Skip the Title screen

Howdy,

I was searching for this script myself, but couldn't find it. That's when I started making it myself!
Pretty easy actually!

Just replace Scene_Title with:
Code:

#==============================================================================

# ** Scene_Title

#------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#  This class performs title screen processing.

#==============================================================================

class Scene_Title

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  # * Main Processing

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  def main

    # If battle test

    if $BTEST

      battle_test

      return

    end

    # Load database

    $data_actors        = load_data("Data/Actors.rxdata")

    $data_classes       = load_data("Data/Classes.rxdata")

    $data_skills        = load_data("Data/Skills.rxdata")

    $data_items         = load_data("Data/Items.rxdata")

    $data_weapons       = load_data("Data/Weapons.rxdata")

    $data_armors        = load_data("Data/Armors.rxdata")

    $data_enemies       = load_data("Data/Enemies.rxdata")

    $data_troops        = load_data("Data/Troops.rxdata")

    $data_states        = load_data("Data/States.rxdata")

    $data_animations    = load_data("Data/Animations.rxdata")

    $data_tilesets      = load_data("Data/Tilesets.rxdata")

    $data_common_events = load_data("Data/CommonEvents.rxdata")

    $data_system        = load_data("Data/System.rxdata")

    # Make system object

    $game_system = Game_System.new

    # Make title graphic

    # Play decision SE

    # Stop BGM

    # Reset frame count for measuring play time

    Graphics.frame_count = 0

    # Make each type of game object

    $game_temp          = Game_Temp.new

    $game_system        = Game_System.new

    $game_switches      = Game_Switches.new

    $game_variables     = Game_Variables.new

    $game_self_switches = Game_SelfSwitches.new

    $game_screen        = Game_Screen.new

    $game_actors        = Game_Actors.new

    $game_party         = Game_Party.new

    $game_troop         = Game_Troop.new

    $game_map           = Game_Map.new

    $game_player        = Game_Player.new

    # Set up initial party

    $game_party.setup_starting_members

    # Set up initial map position

    $game_map.setup($data_system.start_map_id)

    # Move player to initial position

    $game_player.moveto($data_system.start_x, $data_system.start_y)

    # Refresh player

    $game_player.refresh

    # Run automatic change for BGM and BGS set with map

    $game_map.autoplay

    # Update map (run parallel process event)

    $game_map.update

    # Switch to map screen

    $scene = Scene_Map.new

  end

end

This is easy when you want to make a title screen with images!

(I know that it is here somewhere, but like I said, i couldn't find it...)

This is a good advice for inexperience users and could be in RMXP tutorials.
just replace $scene = Scene_Title.new = $scene = Scene_Map.new

that's bad. scene title starts up the game with all the database tabling and going straight to map will mess things up

nahchito, replacing that line in Main skips all $game_... initializations and references. I don't think it'll even run too long starting the game like that without further installations... and those installations would be what Styno included in his script there... well, it's actually more of a Scene_Title rewrite to exclude the possibility of choosing an option anywhere on the title screen.

@Styno: My suggestion is adding those to Scene_Map's main method and change Main class to go to Scene_Map directly, as that'll remove the annoyingly long pause that should occur when using this, as you're effectively scrolling through an additional scene there.

I suggest calling command_new_game vs. coping and pasting those methods in main. This way, scripts that add $game objects automatically to the command_new_game, will be included.

Code:
#==============================================================================

# ** Scene_Title

#------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#  This class performs title screen processing.

#==============================================================================

class Scene_Title

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  # * Main Processing

  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------

  def main

    # If battle test

    if $BTEST

      battle_test

      return

    end

    # Load database

    $data_actors        = load_data("Data/Actors.rxdata")

    $data_classes       = load_data("Data/Classes.rxdata")

    $data_skills        = load_data("Data/Skills.rxdata")

    $data_items         = load_data("Data/Items.rxdata")

    $data_weapons       = load_data("Data/Weapons.rxdata")

    $data_armors        = load_data("Data/Armors.rxdata")

    $data_enemies       = load_data("Data/Enemies.rxdata")

    $data_troops        = load_data("Data/Troops.rxdata")

    $data_states        = load_data("Data/States.rxdata")

    $data_animations    = load_data("Data/Animations.rxdata")

    $data_tilesets      = load_data("Data/Tilesets.rxdata")

    $data_common_events = load_data("Data/CommonEvents.rxdata")

    $data_system        = load_data("Data/System.rxdata")

    # Make system object

    $game_system = Game_System.new

    command_new_game

  end

end

My first script, just replace Scene_Title with it. This works 100%!!!

Uhm, why do you post a script of yours, what from does from what I see exactly the same as Styn0's, in Styn0's topic?

On topic, nice work Styn0, but as BlueScope said you could add that stuff better to Game_Map.

Well, when i try to start my game with any of these scripts of "no title screen", i got a crash in the line 4253 of Mr Mo's ABS (@skill_keys = $ABS.skill_keys).

What can i do?

looks useful.

But if you want to load the game like in the menu, use the call script command like this:
$scene = Scene_Load.new

and you should get to the load screen.

To do exit, use this call script:
$scene = nil

then you should be able to do it.

@fat3gamer: Go to your picture, highlight it, press Ctrl+C. Then go to My Documents > RPGXP > [your game file here] > Graphics > picture and press Ctrl+V.

Note: The directory differs.

OH HANG ON A MINUTE!

It dosent work, i tried every method, the title screen still shows up. :cry:

EDIT:
Figured out it was the SDK, but how do I disable the title screen?
