Skill damage variance VX

I'm using RMVX.
The damage from a skill I create doesn't vary. Like, if I use a skill on an enemy, it always hurt him by the same damage. If I mess with the skill stats and options, things do change, but I still don't quite grasp how this works.
I want to make it so as the user attack power (or intelligence) is higher, the damage rises.
Any help?
 
I'm not sure if this applies to RMVX (it should work nearly the same), but in RMXP, here's how you do it:

Try and find "variance" in the skills tab in the database. You need to change that value to something higher than 0 (around 15, maybe) for the skill to do different damage.

For making the damage rise depending on attack or intelligence, find ATK-F and INT-F. Set them around 100 for an attack or 50 for a healing spell. This will make the attack adjust depending on your stats.

Again, I know you're using VX not XP. But in theory, they both should work the same way here.
