Skie's conceptual crap.

Eh, I got an idea into my head to create a really short game just to make use of some of my abandoned systems and then it turned into a sidestory thing with characters thought out and everything sooo after that comes the concepts! Since I suck, my stuff almost never leaves the concept art stage so yeah...

Anyways feel free to tear it all to shreds, I can take it.

this is a very interesting and rather 'cute' style. looks pretty solid. with a bit more work, your stuff will look really great.

The perspectives are good, and the proportions are decent, considering they're on the chibi-side. But it feels very un-refined. The hair needs some work and shines in the eyes seldom make serpentine slits IRL. If you study some "Learn to Draw Manga" books, you'll see that blobby shines are more the anime style.

That's not to say this is all bad. Your side views are good and some of the faces seem well-honed. The lines are so messy however it's hard to give a positive critique. I hate giving negative ones, I'm not a jerk, believe me :').

Nobody's good overnight, though. Keep at it and you'll get it. I'm personally a little tired of the straight kiddie-anime look, but a lot of people aren't so go for it :').

I'm trying to work on the points you mentioned. Especially my lines, I've been drawing in fragmented lines instead of full ones for years now and I've been trying to break that habit recently but...it's hard to shake off. ':|

As for the eyes, the serpentine slits are intentional characteristics actually(They're half-demons). But I do get what you're saying in general.

Anyways, I be sure to keep this in mind next time I work on something. Thanks for the pointers. ^_^

Your hands and proportions are great (except for one of them where the fingers are brushy and pointy).

And as Venetia already said, the shading could use a little work, as it looks like you did not consider where your light was coming from and shaded along the outline. Another thing I noticed about the hair is that you seemed to shade it like it's a solid object. Think of hair as being made up of many little strings (it pretty much is in real life), so when shading, you should use a different stroke technique as to give it the proper texture. (It's hard for me to explain, but you kind of need to draw several lines, each altering in pressure as to convey value)

tbh, your proportions are really bad. the proportions in your newest are actually good.. for each individual character. If it was one character without the other, the proportions would be pretty good, but the one on the left is enormous compared to the one on the right.

and one last thing, your character designs are pretty plain/boring.

that's all for that.

and now for the upside.. you're pretty good at drawing.. really. I think you have some potential if you keep at it (how long have you been drawing..?). your work reminds me of my own from a few years ago.

Haha, Yes, my proportions suck, but that's what I get for drawing cartoon style all my life. It's only been in the recent year or so that I've become seriously aware of things like proportion and all that other good stuff.

Character designs...Now that's something I'll have to think about. It never really occurred to me.

I've been drawing for about 9 years by now. I still can't really do any of that modern fancy stuff all these new age artists seem to be able to pick up in a flash yet, though. Maybe I'm just dumb, who knows. ':|

In the first post, the girl's side view reminds me of Nanaly from Tales of Destiny 2 :p

But with my inner fanboy out of the way, the latest one is pretty good, though their chins seem really large. Maybe you should try making the mouth lower if you don't feel like making the heads smaller.
