Simple Jumping Script

Working on creating a mini game, where the Hero is trying to "Climp" up a cave to advoid drowing in the rising water, I have done the water effect using events, but I cant seem to do a smooth jumping event based syste, so was wondering is anyone could make a simple jumping script.
Left goes Left
Right moves Right
and Up ...JUMPS

Looking for Smooth effects, and custumizable

.. if you created events for each jump that would take up a lot of space for a minigame, huh.. ?

... would it be possible to lay it under a common event? If every upward movement is a jump, what if you set an autorun event to jump Y:-2 every time the character faces up?

Well I could do it I just want more freedom in movement while jumping, ging to be alot of stuff the player has to avoid so trying to go with a script for this one
