Hey guys, my name is Fayte real name Keon James. I've been a member of this forum for quite sometime now and I've even become aquainted with a few off the regular members here. Anyway for those of you who know me you may already know but for those of you who don't, my girlfriend is pregnant.

There was a lot of drama going on with that information at first and I was very distraught when I found out it wasn't mine (she was pregnant when we met, we just didn't know) but I decided that my love for her meant more then a mistake she had previously made, so I stayed with her. About a month ago her mom (who she hasn't seen in over 7 years) decides to randomly come back and re-enter her daughters life. I was fine with that but she also convinced her to spend the next few months with her in St. Louis.

Long story short I promised her I would be there for the birth of our son. The only problem is her due date is august 8th and the cheapest greyhound ticket from Boston,MA to Springfield,MO is damn near 400$ USD. I didn't think this would be a problem because I convinced my mom to pay for half and I was waiting on an acceptance call from gamestop for a job. I called them this morning and they said they didn't have enough hours to give out. A.K.A they screwed me over.

I'm trying to get a departure ticket for august 1st so I could be there for the birth of my son. All I need is 200$ USD, if any of you guys could make ANY donation to my paypal I will more then greatly appreciate it. I feel bad coming on here and basically begging for free money but my skills in the RMEngine are no where near worth paying for. If there is anything that I am able to do in return I would more then gladly do it.

If I do get to make it to his birth I would most definately post pictures up.

I don't really know how to do this whole paypal thing, I'm assuming you just need my email right? Keonjames@yahoo.com

thank you to anyone who donates, I will never forget what you have made possible for me.

it's because despain once made a thread asking for money to buy an xbox and people actually bought it for him

yes. our members bought despain an xbox.

I'd never donate money to anything like an x-box. At least Fayte's cause is a little more legitimate whether it's true or not. Come to think of it, I'd never donate my money to anything really. *hides yellow username* Okay maybe there was this time I was in the grocery store and the clerk asked me something about 3 dollars for kids hospital and I was like sure hell why not. And that other time some guy begged for 20 dollars, I'm such a sucker for these things, who am I kidding. I guess helping kids is not a bad thing, but 20 dollars to probably pay for some guys cigarettes was pretty stupid.

As much as I really like Riley Freeman. I'm gonna have to say sorry on this one. I spend enough money on my girlfriend as it is and I have to work for it.

Edit: But I'd much rather give you 20 dollars than some guy off the street, or someone trying to sell an RM game without custom everything.

Yeah, I was around for the dispain xbox thing. This is completely different though, I just want to see the birth of my son. I wasn't expecting this to work at all but Im going with the possibility that it could atleast help a little. I honestly don't give a shit who believes me or not, I'm going to do whatever it takes to raise this money to see him born. And when it does happen, whether you guys donated or not I'll post pictures for everyone to see.

I'm nothing like the bastard Des was. I wouldn't "beg" people for money for selfish materials such as an xbox.

i'm sorry about your predicament fayte!
but a few questions (i hope i don't offend)?

- if you're unable to drop $400 on an emergency situation, how can you expect to help raise a child? i realize that money isn't everything in child rearing, but the little guys are basically cash singularities waiting to suck your wallet dry. in a single week a baby can go through $20 in diapers, $100 in daycare (if needed), $40 in formula, $100's in medical expenses, etc etc (list goes on). and that's only when they're an infant.

- have you attempted to sell things to raise the money?

- have you tried the 'gigs' section of craigslist yet? there are lots of people out there looking for temp/dayjob help with moving, painting, etc etc and it would only take a few days to earn it yourself. of course you have to be careful with CL postings but there are more legit people out there looking for legit help than not. i've never had trouble with it. if you have skill with photo editing, website design, etc you can bank there too on single gigs.

- if you showed us some things that would instill more trust in your plea, more people would be likely to donate ...
-- a screencap of a travel site stating your exact travel expenses?
-- a list of things you've sold to raise your own money?
-- etc

i feel for your problem, i do, i just have always been a firm believer in helping yourself before seeking charity.

Ven's got a point. I know what it is like to have to pay a ton of money for something, I have no idea what it's like to have to pay for something like the birth of my child. My biggest thing with things like this is just how people get money and what they do with it either. Maybe it's because I work 3 jobs and almost every penny I make goes to bills, gas, and university tuition that. 400 dollars is a lot of money. Do you have a family member who is willing to loan you the money? do you have a regular job to take care of the child?
I see a lot of people, and have to deal with them everyday, who are welfare/get child support.
And let me tell you, a lot of these people deserve it, but the majorty are scum sucking leeches who would rather leave the kid to starve so they can go buy a big LCD TV or a new computer or lots of booze or something. I'd feel more confident knowing the money you may get here isn't going to something like that. Because, and not that I am doubting you, we don't have legit proof.

yes. our members bought despain an xbox.

also it wasnt MEMBERS it was one person who paid for it all no one else wanted to give him shit really they just wanted to look cool by saying theyd help give money to him

i was about to give him some towards it but he became a massive prick toward me so i told him to eat a dick nice and slow

Oh and piggybacking on the CL idea, you can post an ad for yourself, stating your problem, and mentioning the things you'd do for the money.

For instance movers are a huge expense to a lot of people. You have to pay the companies by the hour, usually $100-$200/hr, for a truck and 2-3 strong guys. Even moving a small apartment can cost $300-$500. My last move though I just rented a U-Haul and gave 2 guys $100 cash to do it. They did such a fantastic job I tipped them an extra $40. Total cost for me: $160 (half of what I usually pay). They each got $70 for two hours of work. Good deal all around.

A coworker's dad restores old houses for a living and flips them. He always needs extra hands to remove debris, mow lawns/trim bushes, paint, etc. He typically will only keep the guys around until their job's done, and pay them under the table. You'd probably get about $40 to paint a few rooms (2-3 hours' work) or $20 to mow a lawn (1 hour's work). Not bad there either.

While in college a friend of mine scraped by by walking dogs. She'd walk them in the mornings and afternoons on weekdays. It all added up to about 2-3 hours' work a day, none of it laborious, and for each dog she'd get about $10 a day. You walk 5 dogs (you can usually do them all at the same time) and that's decent money for not a lot of work.

If you check your local government's/county's website there are often "paid volunteer" jobs available, though they're in high demand. You get a stipend for cleaning up roadways or parks etc. I don't know how much but it has to be atleast minimum wage.

Call around to local businesses and see if they need a sign holder for the day. It's cheaper for them to just have a guy hold a sign for traffic than to buy adspace. Tell them you'd do it for $30 for 4 hours. You'd be undercutting all the headhunter businesses who farm out signholders.

This sounds crass but there are even easier routes:
- Sell blood plasma. You usually get $10-$30 per visit. You can go twice a day for I think 10 visits in a month.
- Sell sperm. You have to qualify for it, but it couldn't hurt to check if you do. They pay out $40-$60 per specimen.

There are lots of options!

Yeah, I totally understand that you guys wouldn't believe a random kid off the internet asking for money. So i'll do my best to answer any questions you guys have because I assure you this is 100% legit.

if you're unable to drop $400 on an emergency situation, how can you expect to help raise a child? i realize that money isn't everything in child rearing, but the little guys are basically cash singularities waiting to suck your wallet dry. in a single week a baby can go through $20 in diapers, $100 in daycare (if needed), $40 in formula, $100's in medical expenses, etc etc (list goes on). and that's only when they're an infant. Well my mom agreed to pay half so I'm really only asking for 200$ but yeah I know where your coming from which is why abortion was our first choice.. then we found out it was too late for her to get it aborted because she was already 6 months (yeah, we didnt know till 6 months in). So, we're going to get as much help from the government as possible. (Welfare, Foodstamps, ect.) My mom has agreed to watch him while we work/school/look for jobs.

- have you attempted to sell things to raise the money? I have nothing to sell besides a couple of really expensive sneakers. I didn't think about putting them on ebay until now, but at the same time I don't think anyone would purchase used sneakers. It couldn't hurt to try though so thanks for that idea.

I don't have a list of things I've sold because like I said earlier I didn't think I had anything to sell. I'm going to look into how ebay works, I know my friend has one I might just use his.

if you do travel on greyhound man bring lots of snacks and a pillow or something (i mean youll prolly have all that anyways cause youre going on a trip to see your girl) cause the trip is long and gay, and also you might want to get a pass that lets you board ahead of everyone, if you dont and the bus gets full youll have to wait for the next bus (and that could be another 24 hours, and greyhound stations are HORRIBLE). people are faggots and d-bags, some drivers are just pricks, and the food at the stations is terrible. If you do stop somewhere make sure you just stick to fast food if its feasible

if i were you i would look into a plane, its gotta be around the same cost if you try Priceline or something. greyhound trips are seriously terrible unless you get on one of those badass wifi buses

Plane tickets cost waayy too much bro. I've never taken the greyhound before (actually I only left state once to georgia and back) but I really don't care. As long as I get to St.Louis and I'm able to see him born it doesn't really matter. That's why I asked for 400 instead of 340 to cover food and some entertainment (like maybe a book or something, I don't own any handheld systems)

Ah, ok. Fair enough. Well like I said If I had money Id send some your way because I do believe you (even if you didnt show me photos I would) but alas I am a poor darkie livin' in a cruel world

good luck man

as long as you don't get married your girlfriend will qualify for WIC benefits (Women Infants Children). They will supply basic necessities for childcare. (actually i can't remember if you CAN be married or not. laws/rules have changed since i'd read anything about it. but look into it, even if you look into nothing else.)

foodstamps can only be obtained for a certain amount of time. You have to keep going into your local welfare center or social security center to prove you deserve it. it will be incredibly difficult for you to do it as you're an unmarried male living at home. it would be much much easier for your gf to get WIC benefits. foodstamps will only be accepted by certain stores and only for certain things.

welfare is a trap.
1.) you will need to be married and be able to prove you and your gf are the sole caretakers of the kid to get the benefits you would actually need. if you live in your mom's house she will be considered a caretaker. if she makes more than a certain amount you will not qualify.
2.) it takes time (a lot; expect 6-8 weeks) for benefits to start after the lengthy approval process.
3.) you will have to constantly report to an office to state you are non-working/earning less than needed. you will have to report to an unemployment office to prove you are looking for work.
4.) if you get a job that makes roughly min. wage or more, you will cease to qualify and your benefits will stop. this makes it TERRIBLY hard to get away from.
5.) you have to report welfare subsidies. that means even if you start working it is possible you may not receive a tax refund.

it does not hurt to look into these options (especially WIC, that is actually a really beneficial program), but they are nothing to rely on. relying on your own earning potential, even in menial labor, will prove to be so much better in the long run.

i came from a family that was on welfare and foodstamps for a long time. it is really really horrible. getting by was a daily chore, and i was just a kid dealing with it.

the longer you are between jobs the less likely an employer will hire you. even if you claim a really really terrible job on an application, it will look better than no job.

it's hard to believe you only have shoes to sell! no television? no computer (what are you using)? no video games? no collectibles of any sort? no jewelry of any kind? no furniture whatsoever? you can sell almost anything on CL or in the newspaper.

none of this is shit you want to hear probably but i know how hard it is to start out and your road is a lot harder with a baby.

if you were considering abortion, why not try adoption? there are lots of couples looking for babies.

you have no control over this, but it could help your gf: in-vitro companies pay BIG BUCKS for ovum (eggs). As much as $10k per viable sample. And she has enough to last her every month 'til she's 60.
There is also surrogacy for after the pregnancy. Couples will pay $80k for a viable surrogate. Again you have no control over that but a lot of girls don't know about it and while it's not a pretty option, it's an option!
