Sideways Facing Doors

So I was just wondering what the best way(or your way)you go about making sideways facing doors?

So far what I have seen that seems to work okay and looks believable,(a method I am using)is putting an arrow animation pointing towards the unseen door. I really dont think random objects surrounding the door is always clear and every house can't have a carpet leading to every door. But I was just wondering other ways to go about it.
Any other suggestions?

Personally I would do it like Final Fantasy VII - the little red and green arrows (I forget which is which) showing where all the map exits and ladders are. (Like you are doing. Hmm.)

I don't think there's really better ways to do it with the RTP perspective. Light could work, but what if it's a dark room or a cave?

You could make a little path leading up to the side of the house or building and when the player touches is, he goes in the house. To make it look good, you could set a tile on the house next to the transfer player event that is always on top, make the player walk into that tile with "Through" on, and give it a door sound.
