Show Picture help...[RESOLVED]

Is it possible for a picture to have a higher priority and show up on top of the message box?

First off, which system. I dunno if it really matters here, but I don't use VX so I can't help you if it is.
Second, why is it that you need to have a picture show above the message box? Can't you just, get rid of the message box then show the picture? Or are you trying to display font over the picture, but not the message box. If it's the last case, then you can just set message options to hide the message box...

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using XP not VX. The reason for the picture covering the message box is because it's a portrait of one of the characters. There are two people talking at the same time. One portrait is displyed using the script line from the UMS script, the other with the Show Picture command. The message box is not at full opacity so the picture is visible, but the windows color is black so the picture appears very dark when behind it. Sorry I wasn't clear about that.

Y'know, in a thinking-outside-the-box way, why not just create a portrait of both characters talking at once?

Well, I didn't make the portraits myself. Did you mean combine the two side by side in one image? That might work.

That's what I was thinking of, yes.  I realize that this doesn't answer your actual question, but it might be a solution to your problem.

After a crash course in Alpha Layers I managed to combine the two images. Thanks for the idea. I thought the portraits couldn't exceed a certain width but the text displayed next the image without changing any settings. Thanks a ton for the help.
