Sharing your game with others.

Ok, so logging onto a website such as "Myspace" or "Livejournal" and trying to share your game with them is a pain in the ass. You have to make them download RMXP, and then your game, and then tell them how to do it. I'm just wondering if there is an easier way, such as burning your game to a disc that you can just pop into a CD-Rom drive and play, or anything easier than telling them how to download RMXP, then your game, and all that jazz.

I've used the 'search' feature but wasn't particularly sure on what to search for, and I checked the FAQ. My problem wasn't answered specifically, so I decided to create a new topic.

Apologies if I missed anything.

Well, you could make your game "non-RTP." That is, you copy every material in the RTP package(they're at "common files" folder) that you use and then make your game not use the RTP.* But it'll drastically increase the game's size depending on how many RTP materials you copy at the game's folder. I don't know if the CD-Rom thing you suggested is possible, I think not.

*Game -> Select RTP -> Set the RTP1 to none.

I can't find "common files" anywhere in any project.

But just say I could, and then copied them (and then do what with them?), what would making it "non-rtp" enable me to do? Put the game up for download, and they can simply play it without having to download RMXP?

I think he means the folder where all of your main files are.. for every project. Like.. Audio, Graphics, Data.

The RTP is the biggest part of the RPGXP download. The RPG Maker part of the file is only like 6-7MB while the RTP is like 21.
This would be nice to know if anyone knew how.
@ Brosek I don't think that is just those files because I carry arround all of those files on my Flash drive and yet I still can't run the game on any comp that doesn't have the RTP. He means something else...but what I don't know.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS\Standard

That's where the RTP is normally installed(if you haven't messed with the address before installing it that is)

Making your game non-RTP will cause your game to not require the RTP package to be installed to the computer where you want to play your game, it will only look for resources at the Graphics and Audio folders(meaning those without the RTP no longer need to install it). If you disable your RTP, make sure to copy EVERY RTP file you are using in your game into the graphics or audio folder respectively(not simply paste it at the Graphics folder, inside their respective subfolders. i.e. put the autotiles in the Autotiles folder).

Sorry for the rather long-winded explanation, hope it helps. ':|
