Shadowrun Level-Up System (and Quest?)

I've played Shadowrun (GEN) sometimes now, and i'm interested with its level-up... and quest..system...

You know, instead of using level to get a stat boost, player have to do a quest to get the stat point (or karma) and use it to purchase stat. I know (somehow) about getting the stat point, but i didn't understand to make the 'cost' for stat boost to raise... (Raise Str from 4-5 cost 2, from 5-6 cost 4, etc..)

Also for the quest, I 'feel' i know how to do it, probably without script, but i didn't know how to do it... it's so frustrating. I've asked some of my friend about this, but, of course, they didn't know. Any idea?

Sorry if i put this at wrong place, but i THINK it didn't need script. Maybe.
 
To make each stat cost more as it rises, make a variable equal to the stat. the higher the variable is, the higher the payment is.
for having one quest each level (thats what you meant, right?) you need to have a variable that rises by one each time the player levels and lowers by one each time the he does the quest, and if its low then zero then its a no-can-do. If thats hard you can also get two variables one equal to the Qs done and one to his level, the levl one must be higher.
 
There is a system that someone made that does this for you, except that it doesn't increase the point value needed to up the stat. I'll look for the file when I get home and see if I can change it to fit what you need. If I can't, I can surely make you one if you would prefer. Or I could walk you through doing it so that you can figure it out as well. Just let me know!
