Sam's WW2 Workshop

SAM'S WW2 WORKSHOP

I've decided to open a thread for all of my resources for "Le Mal". You may have seen these before; I don't need to hear it. All I want is some constructive criticism to make these better, or some suggestions as to what I should make next.

You may notice that the clothes upon the soldiers and armor of the vehicles have little/no shading upon the actual clothes/surface. At the moment I am more interested in the actual linework of them. That, however, will be updated as I learn to texture!

I hope to get this sheet finished before I do anything else... but I can't promise anything. :)[/spoiler]

This is a very very early version of what the final product should be. I just started this one to get the ball rolling.

Yeah, I know. The boots look weird. XD Another thing to add to my list of things to do...

Most have seen this one; just need to texture. Like all my sprites...

Good ol' Showkaizer and Tana. Without you two, we would have no inspiration at all.

That's all for now, but should be updated regularly. Constructive criticism is required, so I can make Le Mal the
best (and first) WW2 game to be released on RPGXP and RMXP.org!

----------------------------------------------------

Oh, and if you would like to help me on this, please give us a PM. I'm serious, doing this one solo will be hard. All
custom resources is going to kill me without a little backup. Thanks, all.

Your shooting animations don't look like their shooting.  Keep in mind guns have kick backs, meaning if you fire that their rifle the gun should raise and should cause the character to lean back slightly.

I never knew nazi's could be cute o_o;;;

It'd be cool if there were some versions of the single-handed-gun poses to have the chara holding it with 2 hands. You kind of have to hold higher-caliber pistols/revolvers with two hands, anyway.

I agree with The Urchin in that the riflemen need some recoil on from the shot. It'd be cool to see some dudes who're hit/being shot, too. With the pistols/revolvers, there'll be recoil, too: that can be demonstrated by the forearm holding the gun bending upward after the shot is fired.

Lastly, on the clothes, I wouldn't mind seeing more dark values: The shadows all hug the outlines and I'd like to see more shadow colors delineating folds in the uniforms or areas of light.

En anflug von Deutsch hm?

Well, I always like to put an emphasis on the native names. But yes, it does mean air infantry in English.

Aww... thanks Ven. I'll get started on those ideas after work today (gotta leave in about 15 mins) I'll see what I can do about putting folds into the actual clothes, but this is the one part that absolutely stumps me when it comes to spriting... well I guess you'll see later.
