Running RMXP Through External Drive

I'm currently using a laptop that isn't exactly mine. I don't have admin rights, so I am not able to install RMXP to the hard drive itself, but I managed to install it onto an external drive. I installed both the program itself and the RTP, but when I try to open the program, it doesn't seem to find the .dll file.

I installed these to the same base area, but they are in separate folders. Do I need to make a single folder with all the files in one place for this to work, or is RMXP unable to be used via an external drive?

I'm not sure if it is usable, something about the windows registry.

You could try copying RGSS102e.dll from C:\WINDOWS into your game's directory, perhaps.

Yeah, I have tried that. Didn't work.

I'm just gonna use the desktop for now, until I can get a computer of my own. Just means less time to work on my game.

You'd need to change the registry to accept the program, simply put, unless you installed an OS on your external drive and booted the computer with it, It isn't gonna work.
