Before I begin, a few of you might be wondering why I created a new topic instead of just bumping the old page-5 one. Well, there is a perfectly good reason for that. You see, I deleted the old EW and everything associated with it. I just wasn't happy with it. So I started everything over, and I couldn't be more happy with the progress it's making. At this rate, it will be done in about 2 weeks, and I'll have the rest of the time for polishing.
Sorry if you dislike spoiler tags. I just find it so much easier to organize by using them.
((If you read the other one, just skip this. This is basically the same, but I fixed up a few things.))
On the edge of the mighty Shanl mountain lies a small village all but forgotten to the outside world. It knows no war or conflict, aside from the occasion goblin raid. Yet, life in the village would not remain ideal. The winters slowly became colder and more fierce. Few crops would grow; the water quickly became tainted. The village begged the Holy City for help, but they had none to spare.
The village began sending hunting parties into the mountains to obtain food and water. At first, these were sucsessful. The hunting parties would be gone a few days, perhaps a week, and bring back food and water enough for a month. But the harsh winters effected more than just the village. Other cities and tribes sent their people into the mountains to look for food. The food became more scarce; the springs quickly dried up. Even the wildlife was victim to starvation. The hunting parties began staying in the mountains for weeks, months at a time in order to bring back enough food for the village. Some never returned at all.
At about the same time, a child named Anthony Tamara was born. Through most of his childhood, Anthony behaved like any boy would. On his 13th birthday, Anthony collapsed, having the first of what would be many hallucinations. The local doctors diagnosed him with a rare mental disorder. It would slowly eat away at his mind causing the hallucinations to occur more frequently. Eventually, Anthony would be lost to them completely. Not wanting this fate to befall their child, Anthony's parents begged the priests of Shanl for help. It was not until 3 years later that their pleas were heard.
By that time, Anthony was bedridden. The hallucinations plagued his mind all hours of the day. The priests worked day and night to attempt to cure Anthony. Eventually, they started to make progress. Anthony would never fully be rid of the hallucinations; they had gone on far too long. Yet he would be able to live with them. From that point on, Anthony's hallucinations became shorter and less frequent. Eventually, they stopped alltogether.
A year later, Anthony's parents were among the first to die from the poisoned waters. Having no living relatives in the area, Anthony was taken in by the hunters. They treated him as they would a brother. Despite his disorder, Anthony was allowed to come along on several of the shorter expeditions. Eventually, he started to go along with the longer ones. He was prized by his fellow hunters for his ability to find food and water in even the most desolate of places. It was on one such trip that disaster struck.
((Actual game starts here. The previous is briefly gone over in the intro, and revealed throughout the game))
3 days into the journey, Anthony's hallucinations came back. He had been without them for close to 2 years at this point. A storm had been brewing in the Shanl mountains for a while, and the 5-man party was unable to turn back. They pressed on until they found an abandoned Goblin tunnel in which Anthony could rest. The tunnel was not as abandoned as it seemed. A small group of goblins lay in wait for potential food. They ambused Anthony and his party, killing several people. When it was finally over, Anthony and a girl named Aysmeral were all that was left of the hunting party.
Plagued by Anthony's hallucinations and the almost unnateral weather, Anthony and Aysmeral must find their way back home. With limited food supplies, survival is unlikely.
((Yay for non-saving the world/defeating evil creature storyline!))

1)Multiple ways down the mountain. While the ending of the game doesn't change, the story is a bit different throughout the game depending on the path you took.
2)Limited items and weapons. For the most part, what you start out with is what you get. Occasionally you'll find a discarded sword or a few potions on a frozen corpse.
What I REALLY want to do, but it's buggy/hard as hell
1)Hunger/Thirst system. Probably going to have to cut this out what with the deadline quickly approaching. Last time I attempted it, it was buggy as hell

1)The introduction. All 5-10 minutes of it. 5-10 minute to watch it, 5-10 hours to make the damn thing.
2)The tutorial segment
3)The Story(99% I'd say. I just need to fix up a few conflicting things)
4)Pictures. TS/WS/GO, along with 7 'Day #' images and credits.

1)About 60% of the mapping
2)gathering music
3)*ugh* Database work
4)Finish a few of the puzzles
5)Just generally polish things up
6)The damn opening credits scene! I want to draw it out and make it look nice. I'm up near 30 maps needed for the one scene.

There is one thing I am going to have to request from the community. I badly need a high quality 45x45 map using the snow town tileset. I don't have an specific requirements really, other than it needs to have an exit(path leading to the edge) to the north and east. If you wanna add exits to the other sides, knock yourself out. I would do this myself, but I can't map towns worth a damn. You will recieve credits. PM me.
