[RTPC] Dark Entity

You were driven out your very own home, forced
to watch the unbearable death of your own kin.
They left you with but a burned pile of rubble
that you once called your home. Ever since that
day, you swore on pain of death, you would get your
vengeance on those who destroyed
your home, and your family.

Age: ???

Bio: Geles was once a proud and noble lad in his youth. He was always a strong fighter. But ever since that fateful day, his mind has been moulded and bent on revenge, he cares nothing of the troubles of others, but only himself. He will do anything to get his revenge, or even just feed himself for the day.

Features
1 vs. 1 Battle System
Dark Entity contains its very own original combat system scripted using simple events.

Survival
Dark Entity also includes a very important hunger system. If you do not feed yourself, you will surely die. To feed yourself is a matter of hunting down creatures and killing them. You will then receive some food off of them. Some foods may fill you up more than others and some may even poison you.

Hmm I really like the idea of that hunger system with the monsters "droping" food. Makes more sence to slay the monsters in the first place like that and poisoning? Nice. Makes it pretty tactical. Story sounds pretty intresting so far. I'll come back when you got those screens up and stuff.
 
Oooh, This one seems interesting, I'm starting to really like the games coming out for these contests, their... how do you say, actually different? Their not you basic, save the world from the big evil generic RPGs, hurray for the contests and originality! HURRAY!
 
Bleh, I have some rather bad news.

I don't think I'll be able to get the CBS done, it just wont work, it worked perfectly before, and now all these errors creep up and im getting really stressed with it now, but im just gonna concentrate on the actual game now rather than the CBS just so I don't stop making the game entirely! :D
 
Heya, Draken!

Well, I've been working with the CBS... I don't seem to run across any of the errors you keep mentioning. I'll tell you this in a PM too if you want, but here are my suggestions...

1. Make the flow of battle more clear. Right now, enemy and player attacks look almost exactly the same, and it is hard to tell what's going on other than that you need to press a button when it says "Player's Turn".

2. I think you may have done this, but it's fairly unclear... the red bar in the top left is Hunger, right? What's the bar in the bottom right (the green one)?

3. If not already done, health bars for the PC and enemy would be useful...

4. You use a whole bunch of event branches (7, IIRC) for one battle. I'm not 100% sure how yet, but I think there's got to be a way to simplify things...

5. It is also very unclear what attack the enemy is doing. Perhaps you should make an animation (via MS Paint or something) of whatever the attack type is and have it play over whoever does said attack? Might not only make it clearer who is doing what, but also make battles less aesthetically monotonous...

I would add an enemy hp bar, but the RTP Challenge has a limit of 30 pictures and no scripts. The PC's health bar is the bottom-right green bar.
