Setting
Around the turn of the 4th millennium...
Mankind's heavy extraction of Earth's resources have drained the oceans, polluted the skies and destroyed the forests.
The years leading up to this time, humanity have reached the stars and galaxies and constructed great fleets of spacecraft, but only now has the need to colonise a new planet has been realised.
The project to save the last of humanity, led by Earth's greatest mind Julian Ambrose, is to construct a ring-world planet around a distant star that has similar properties to Earth's sun.
The ring-world construct, so alone in the night-sky, was named Solitude.
The engineers of Solitude balanced the ring-world around it's sun using four great rockets, called Engines, that seasonally fire to realign Solitude and keep it from shifting too close to the sun.
To give the inhabitants of Solitude plentiful resources for energy, four great solar panels were erected from the outer-edges of the ring. Using the gravity of the central star, these panels rotate slowly around the ring-world, casting shadows onto it's surface, mimicking the old Earth's day and night cycle.
Humans, including Julian who indefinitely extended his own life-span to see the end of Solitude's construction, finally set their new home on the ring-world, and buried their written history into a great, sunken library in the middle of Solitude's largest desert.
However, when transporting the landmasses of Europe onto Solitude's structure, they unknowingly carried a great historic entity and set it into the new planet's surface.
A countless amount of time passes, the old Earth is now destroyed, the only surviving humans are on Solitude. The past is forgotten, only the great library and the still-surviving Julian Ambrose remember.
The people believe Solitude was constructed by the gods and they are the chosen life-forms, to extract the elemental powers of the land into the veins of families and to ensure Solitude stays safe and prosperous.
Story
During the 4th recorded century.
One of the cities built upon the location of Engine 3 is attacked by a great flying structure, known to be Julian Ambrose's science station of the skies.
7 friends are brought together, to work together and to fight together. Engine 3 is destroyed, Solitude's collected engineers can repair it, however, with them all working to repair Engine 3, the others Engines are exposed to attack.
Armies rise defensively at each city, soldiers of towns in deserts, mountains and oceans are called to their nearest city.
After their airship is shot-down during the fight above the city of Engine 3 and 5 of them wrongly imprisoned, the 7 heroes take up their own task of stopping Julian before he reaches Engine 4, to find out the meanings behind why he has started this sudden attack, the desert library that they had stumbled across days before and the truth of their 7th newest friend's creation inside one of Julian's laboratories.
But they are not the only free-lance fighters taking to the skies to stop Julian.
Characters (In order of appearance)
Name: Gus
Element: Solitude
Description: Brother of Felix. His blood is infused with the power of the sand and the soil. A deep thinker, a true leader. So much is inside his mind, now he focuses it on the task he shares with his friends.
Name: Felix
Element: Ice
Description: Gus's brother. Felix's veins carry Ice-cold blood, even in the desert, he wears thick clothing and a scarf. His radio mast gives the heroes a second income from the various sponsored and commissioned broadcasts that it transmits, and brings in enough seasonal revenue to keep the team's airship in good condition.
Name: Andrew
Element: Light
Description: Andrew met Gus as a child and they have always kept a strong bond between each other. Gus' brute-strength is complimented by Andrew's sheer-speed as his blood carries the element of the sun's light itself. Beware; under the shadows of a solar panel Andrew's elemental abilities are weakened. His intelligent, serious nature keeps the team on track and clear with their goals.
Name: Oli
Element: Electricity
Description: Oli was originally the paid pilot of the airship, however, after several close encounters and life-threatening situations he has faced with the team, he became a friend. Oli's has always been infused with the electrical energy from the solar panels as a child, he can use the energy from his hands to power his tools and make repairs to the airship.
Name: Ali
Element: Air
Description: Ali was paid to work with the team to assassinate a leader of bandits. He worked so well with the team that he asked to join their free-lance fighter company. Using air itself, he can bend arrows shot from his bow, and accelerate them in the head of a target. He is useful when the airship is caught in high-winds, or is near the tornadoes of a support-arm for a solar-panel.
Name: Lloyd
Element: Darkness
Description: Lloyd was found by the team after they discovered the ancient library and sought after Julian in one of his laboratories for answers. Due to his element being the opposite to Andrew's, the two frequently disagree. Like Andrew, he is intelligent and serious. His reason to find Julian is to find an explanation for his existence.
Name: Fred
Element: Fire
Description: Fred is the marksman of the team. He paid Gus and Felix to assist protecting his home-town from an attack of monsters, after defeating them, he offered to help out the team whenever he can. He knows Solitude's locomotion network like the back of his hand, and can always arrive to help out. However, he does have a short fuse and can let out a fiery rage.
About
I've been developing this RPG concept for a very long time now and after a few re-writes I'm submitting the short concept here for any kind of comment or review.
The more praise I get, the more likely I am to start developing it.
This will NOT be done in RPG maker as I need something more...flexible to work with.
It will be programmed from scratch with original graphics.
The main thing that will be programmed is a semi-3D battle system with the graphical style of Golden Sun, but with a battle system more like SNES-era Final Fantasy game.
This here is a title test made in VX, hope this helps you understand the mood and type of RPG this is supposed to be.
