I have recently packaged a copy of RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX in a form that someone running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.x) or above on an intel mac can run. The download is rather huge, due to the fact that the wineskin package contains everything needed for the programs to run as well as a custom wineskin wrapper with just the runtime and instructions on how to use it for making mac based rgss games so be warned.
The DMG images are roughly between 800 MB and 1.0 GB in size, but that should not really be a problem for anyone that has a mac. The software does not have the serial keys built into it for legal reasons, so if you plan to use it, you need to purchase a license to use it from Enterbrain. Even midi files are working with these babies.
just for reference, each comes with a readme file that tells you how to use it for now, expect a Windows to Mac migration to for RPG Maker XP and VX in the near future. At this time, you would do this to make your game a Mac one:
1.) Save your project as usual.
2.) Duplicate your RGSS Player.app (or RGSS2 Player.app) and rename it to what you plan to call your game.
3.) Right click (or if you have a single button mouse, control click) your RGSS Player and choose Show Package Contents.
4.) navagate to the drive_c/rgss_game folder and copy the contents of your project into the folder (but not the enclosing folder itself.)
5.) Inside the RGSS Player there is a Wineskin.app, run it and choose advanced.
6.) Update the name and version string, save and exit.
7.) navagate to your projects contents from RPG Maker, play the new game, or share it with a friend.
*RPG Maker XP for Mac 869.56 MB
*RPG Maker VX For Mac 892.38 MB
