That's like a dude who loves FPS calling a dude who likes RTS a fag. They're both roleplaying. :P Accept your brethren, because all in all, we get lol'd at by others :P

I used to enjoy D&D but its totally dependent on the chemistry of the group you are with. It's really always been about the fun with the characters you make up and the general camaraderie than great storytelling although that's always a great plus.

I was never into internet rp'ing simply because it has no element of chance. The great thing about a game like D&D is you have someone who can heap adversity and force you to adapt with or without rolling a dice. Instead most of it on internet rp'ing is self created problems solved by self created solutions, which to me isn't really roleplaying. It's novel/short story writing and in most cases self insertion fiction.

I love role playing. It's my favorite way to blow time. I used to just RP exclusively over AIM, but I've recently joined a DnD group at my campus that's fun times. Role playing with someone competent is a lot of fun, especially with a lot of people. It's actually how I've come up with a lot of my story ideas for games. Some friends and I actually developed our own tabletop-style system that we use on AIM for combat and it's actually pretty fun.
