Rocksmith is an upcoming guitar game by Ubisoft, now before you say "this is just another Guitar Hero" please read on.

Rocksmith sets itself apart from the older Guitar Hero games by making use of a real guitar, you can plug in any electric guitar and start playing.
It's essentially a game that will teach you how to play the guitar in a fun and modern way.
The game is optimized for both pro guitar players and complete newbies to the instrument because it uses so called "Dynamic Difficulty".
As soon as you start playing the game constantly checks how you are doing, if you're doing good it will slowly increase the difficulty, if you are missing a lot of notes it will slow the game down, giving you time to catch up.
There's also various minigames that you can play that will teach you the basics of the guitar, these are meant for people that are new to guitar playing, obviously.
Rocksmith includes 50 tracks that span from classics to current hits, and the best part is that the game will teach you how to play these songs outside of the game.
The game is set for release somewhere this October, it will release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I'm pretty excited for this game, I've always wanted to pick up the guitar but I never felt like enduring boring lessons.
It seems this game will teach me how to play a lot of songs in a fun and quick way.
I'm gonna find my dad's old guitar and see how far I can get with this game!

I've heard about this, and it's something I'm definitely looking forward to myself. I've wanted to get into music for a while now, but I'm starting college soon and I'm afraid I won't have the time (or money) needed for personal lessons.
