RMXP vs RMVX?

I had been working on a farming game for 2-3 years and quit for a while I haven't had a chance to try the trial of rmvx but I heard it was a million times easier and ran games alot faster than in rmxp. Since lag has been the biggest issue with rpgmaker since rm98 I was wondering if it was worthwhile picking up a copy of vx and converting everything over from rmxp if in the long run my games performance is going to be increased because it was a LAGFEST in rmxp with an anti lag script.

So I guess what i'm asking is, what are the main differences between rmxp and rmvx? Is scripting exactly the same since its the same programming language i'm hoping converting rmxp scripts to rmvx is just copy/paste because I really don't want to have to learn something new and have to do months of coding all over again. Is it true that games run faster in vx? Is it worth purchasing a copy of vx or just sticking with xp?

Let me point you to this thread; it lists the pros and cons of each and should help with your decision.

Regarding scripting, I've heard good things about RGSS2, but it might take some effort to convert from RGSS. If you're already experienced with XP, I would just stick with that, unless you decide to panorama maps or something game-changing. You can even try RGSS2 in XP, if you so desire.
