RMXP: Trouble in Vista

Hello all,
I just recently got a new laptop with Vista on it, and installed RPG Maker XP, v1.01. The editor itself works just fine, I can still edit maps and events and all that kind of stuff just fine. However, when I go to either test play or run a game, it opens the RGSS, and it immediately says that RGSS Player has stopped working and closes the program. Has there been a patch released or anything along those lines that can fix this problem?
I've already tried both changing the compatibility to run in XP mode, and telling it to Run as Administrator, neither of these have worked.

e_e are you serious...There are many tutorials on how to fix it. There is a SEARCH BAR

I have found numerous tutorials, and also people describing exactly the same problem I have, of being able to open the editor, but not run the games.
And hey, guess what! The people with problems exactly like mine, were ignored! Much like I am now. I've seen the tutorials, all of which say either, Run as Administrator, or, edit compatibility to run in Windows XP mode. And, like I said in my opening post, neither of those solutions worked for me. If someone would care to point to a solution beyond that, or to a thread where someone else with my problem was actually answered, then I would be immensely grateful.

Fernin, The latest version of RMXP is 1.02a. The patch is on the Enterbrain site.

Also try logging in as administrator, and/or making sure your user account has administrator privileges.

Holy sh-- Are you serious? You named your dog iCheeze...Who the hell would come up with that...But really there are search bars and it does get annoying when there are 40 topics with the same problem..I mean if you really want to fix it don't make another topic, Just put "I am having the same problem, Any help"

My moonspeak is quite rusty, I can't seem to find the 1.02 patch anywhere on their main site. The 1.03 patch is very easy to find, but as we all know, that's for the Japanese version only. I did find one link directly to the 1.02 patch, but that now links to a different site entirely, which, so far as I can tell, only has the 1.03 patch. Should I just get the whole 1.02a program from download.com, or is there some backlogged site hidden somewhere that still has the patch?

Gamespot has the patch. Although reinstalling 1.02a shouldn't take too long.
