OK I was watching this random movie and I came across something that caught my attention.

I started hearing RMXP sound effects... I kept listening and it wasn't JUST 1... there were several.


Please.... listen to this and tell me if you hear it too.

They turn up a LOT in amateur movies, youtube shorts, and games in other engines. People treat the RTP as a freeforall to do whatever they want with and for the most of it it doesn't appear eb do anything about it.

Because they don't have any reason to do anything about it. If you bought RMXP, or VX, you own the RTP and can do with it what you like.

buying a license of a thing =/= being able to distribute said thing
like, legally, anyway

I actually emailed enterbrain a few weeks ago asking if they'd consider licensing it for more uses, but haven't had a response past two automated ones saying they're processing the doodah or whatnot. Will be interesting to see what they say, as they seem to have upped their customer support recently (they even have a support frum specifically for "license usage etc")

It's in general discussion, and people are generally discussing, what's the problem with it? o.O I mean, there's clearly discussable content in it, and people are doing so.

I suppose there's always the chance eb themselves took it from somewhere else. But then that sort of sound effect can only really be done a few ways, it's bound to sound similar. Interesting though.

its possible some of these sounds are actually public domain and so apear in almost everything. Like that one scream. It's used in almost every movie including star wars. The wilhelm scream, i think it's called.
