RMXP not working on Vista

Hi everyone i was hoping someone can help me, Ok i finally got around to buying RMXP for my Vista laptop and i have installed it and changed the compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 2 and to run as Administrator but when i go to run the program i get a message come up saying "RPG Maker XP has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." has anyone come across this before and if so do you know how to get it to start working.

I can tell that you haven't read them(or my post you obviously just read the title) because they couldn't have less to do with my problem, there all about problems testing games in vista or asking why it didn't work (all been told to try tunning in Administrator which i stated i have already done), if you going to try and help at least make sure the help your giving is relevant to to topic.
