Yes, and no. You wanna run using Wine, but current PS3 Linux can only render graphics with software and the processor. Someone has discovered a way to access some of the the graphics rsx, but it's not included in the PS3 Linux distributions as of yet.
Edit: Yes, this will require you to reformat your hard drive and rid of all your save games and demos.
