[RMVX] Panoramic Map Tutorial (TONS OF PICTURES)

For the above post, you need to configure the "Passage Settings" to make the "x" and one transparent tile to non-passable. (An "O" means it is passable).

Before placing the "x" tiles, fill your entire map with transparent passable tiles first.  Once you're satisfied with your "x" tile placements, replace those "x" tiles with the transparent NON-PASSABLE tiles and viola.

For solving the overlay with scripting, I failed miserably. lol.  It is not really a good idea to modify the default system scripts.

I'm aware of that.  I read the help file before posting here.

Perhaps I missed something.  Maybe the "!" only works on certain files sizes.  Maybe I'm applying it to too big of a picture and it doesn't behave like it is suppose to.

I dunno. Try it on Marcus demo.  That's what I tried it on.

This really rocks, best tutorial I have read. I just wanted to say that I found using the default semi-transparent tiles on TileE useful in lineup my character set with the panorama image.

I'm having great luck in making my regular map in the editor, then taking screenshots, pasting them into photoshop and sprucing them up this way. Even before using this tutorial. It's really awesome, being able to mix easily tiles and custom made. I don't mind the file-sizes too. 500k - 1 meg is not bad, and I'm using high quality.

Keep up the amazing / great work!

If you need to know how to do this, he DID provide a demo. No need to necropost. >.>

I need to know how to make this myself, the demo is just as an example....

Ok so I tried this and everything works fine......except the chararecter set abote the player and the parallax map move at slightly different speeds.....so it looks like two of the maps are sliding around over each other...? Any ideas how to fix this?

The paralax has to be the same size the map

Map 100x100 tiles, then paralax(image) must be 3200x3200 pixels (one tile is a 32x32pixel square)
