RMVX is not working on Windows ME

I have been using my newer computer when working on VX, but I also want to use my ME too. But for some reason, it's now working. When I double-click the Executable file, a message pops up saying:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

(X) Runtime error!
Program C:\Program Files\Enterbrain\RPGVX\RPGVX.exe

This applictation has requested the runtime library to terminate it in an unusual way.

My Computer specifications:

HP Pavilion
GenuineIntel
Processor: Intel Celeron
RAM: 319MB
OS: Windows Millenium Edition

That would be because RPG Maker VX is simply too new for Windows ME. It uses commands (in this case in the C++ coding) that are not part of Windows ME. You might want to see if there are any updates available for your C++ library for Windows ME, because you're out of luck otherwise.

Plus, I have Dial-Up. I can't download anything big.

Either become rich and buy WinXP/Vista and get faster internet, or continue to use XP.

I did a quick search, and a common thread with this kind of error was a program called runtifix.exe. (for solving it, I mean) I haven't tested it myself, but it is supposed to update a group of files that causes runtime errors, including the visual c++ library. You might want to check it out. It's available from the official microsoft download library.

And Shadow... I can't get faster internet where I live. And I'm lucky enough to even have a computer, let alone TWO.
