DOWNLOAD THE DEMO (82mb)

LENGTH OF THE DEMO
The demo should take 15-45 minutes. The actual game will be 1hr-1:30hr.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS:
I would recommend playing this in "Test Play".
- The CMS may make two "canceling sounds" in a row while you are
in the "supplies" menu. That is OK.
- if you save your game and come back, you may have to wander
around and start the event again.
- Battles may be too difficult. I tried to sparkle around a lot of
items.

COMMENTS:
If you play through this demo, please leave a grammer
correction/comment/review/suggestion/anything. I'll read
everything and try to improve!

GAMEPLAY:
CBS and CMS. This game is EXTREMELY linear. There aren't any field
controls. You can heal Lloyd through the menu. You can find fish/penguins to eat. You automatically gain meat from killing
wolves.

STORY OF EPISODE I:
"Lloyd Herim" takes place in a world with 1865/U.S. Civil War-era technology.

"Episode I" takes place after a failed mission by Squad 8, the secret operatives group of Agon, the world's dominant super-power. They were sent to the northern, mountainous country known as Nielheim, to eliminate a threat to Agon: the rogue scientist,

McCarthy, who has managed genetically mixed human and wild beast together. Long ago, the world emerged from a devastating global war only by
banning gunpowder. McCarthy's experiments would provide an edge to
any country looking to assert itself on the world stage.

Squad 8 was attacked and wiped out during their attempt on
McCarthy's base in the snow.

Lloyd Herim was the only survivor.

This is his story.

OVERVIEW:
"Lloyd Herim" is a series of action-adventure games me and my co-creator "SuperCoolMale" (I'm the coder, he does the sprites. We both share story duties.) am currently developing.
What may make this game unique is the fact that I tried to make it RTP as possible.

I wanted to sorely focus on game-play, not graphics. So I had to be more creative with pictures. Also, I wanted people to see the true power of RTP. I'd estimate the game is 85%-90% of RTP.

WELCOME to HBgames...
Apologies ahead of you reading this post, I don't want to seem like im
trolling or running your game down, trust me, I KNOW how much time
game making consumes and hard work that goes into making them.
These are just my thoughts...
OKAY.. here's MY 1st thought.. I CAN'T PLAY IT!
right.. rant over.. you failed to state its for "rpg maker 2003"..
I was totally looking forward to playing this until I ran into that
problem.. you want people to see
the true power of RTP? what's that all about? your game must
have something pretty special in it or about it in every way
to make people stop and think/say "WOW! that looks amazing".
So.. it might sound like im digging at you but you should re-make
this in rmxp.. you can do a LOT more with rmxp than 2003.. other
than play videos.. but there's a script for that.
ANYHOWS..
Glancing through your game's file folders.. Here's a few suggestions
that I think if you want your game to stand out more than others you
should think about..

1. You should get your own music made for this game, f.f. dissidia? its
hardly original, also your looking at copyright infringement if you release
this as pay to play and not freeware.

Here's a link to a page that someone is making game music for a small price,
I can honestly say she is really good at song making, I've had her make me
17 original tracks for my game so far, all amazing, infact.. i'm having her make
ALL the music in my game, i'm guessing around 50 tracks in total.

2. Original art work.. maybe you could get someone else onboard who's an artist
and could do original graphics for you. You already stated ur mates good at pixel
art so thats half the hunt over.

Anyhows.. judging by the two screenies they seem ok.. maybe a few more screenshots
would be nice showing a few more mapped areas, a town maybe, so people can see how
complex your maps are.

SOD IT! im gona go hunt for rpg maker 2003 and play it.. i'll be back with a review, no trolling
I promise.

OKAY.. here's my thoughts on the game.. Quite good.. it kinda reminds me of
Lagoon on the snes.. on how you attack.. and how monsters are fought on map
and not in a turnbase situation. I only got to the bit where a girl runs out of a
house and **BLAMM** lol that was unexpected and funny.. the story's quite
good.. it had me interested from the beginning and has me wanting to play more..
your mapping seems okay for the standard of rm2003.

1. there's a few minor spelling mistakes for example words not fitting on one line so
part of words are missing.

2. a few map errors, like small bushes around that huge house are ontop of you as to
where they should b behind you.

3. the corners of the small pool to the right of the big house appear on top of you and
not behind you, guessing u got them set wrong on the map editor, wrong priority
setting i guess, not sure how rm2003 maker map settings work.

4. you also got problems with your saving situation, it won't allow you to save over a
saved file.

5. most IMPORTANTLY.. my health went to 0 .. and i didnt die, or the game never ended
so i was roaming around with 0 health and killing things, Im sure thats not to happen.
At 0 health, if u eat food ur hp's dont go up either.

6. oh yeah! the intro when it shows the world map and it's talking at bottom of screen..
you've spelt the names of the places wrong in the chatting compared to the names of
the places on the maps.

suggestions...

1. the wolf howling gets a bit too much on the mountain, maybe more time inbetween
each howl is needed.

2. definatly think about getting your own music made for this game, link was in the above
post, she's very good.

Final thought.. all in all its a pretty good game, i'd definatly play more if it was a full game,
especially now I can after installing rm2003, you wont catch me making games with it though,
think i'll stick to rmxp. HOPE these few suggestions, errors ect.. helps you.

thanks for suggestions... that was the first review of my game I ever read.

as for the music... i'll think about it. she's good. i'm really broke at this point.

As for RMXP... i don't really like the engine. Or how the game looks when you play it. I like how Rm2k3 game looks like a SNES game.

Yes, I realize that is a problem. Really annoying one too.

I have no idea how to fix this. Is this a common error?

I've never had this one before. Did you play it in "Test Run"?

no i didnt play the game in test run.. unfortunatly I cant answer your problem with
the health issue.. I've not worked with rm2k3 so im rly unfamiliar with the engines
mechanics.. well, my suggestion would be to put another post in the help section of
the forums, (make sure its the correct forum), I'm pretty much sure someone whos
used this engine could help you there.. if you dont get a reply within 2 days try bumpin
your topic again and you should get a reply, people are pretty good and fast at replyin
in these forums.

goodluck
