RGSS Player and Vista

Firstly, let me clarify that my RPG Maker XP works and runs games on Vista Home Premium.

However, in the event that a game disk is encrypted (i.e. I don't have access to Playtest) and I try to run Game.exe, I get the message:

RGSS Player has stopped working
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available.

I do have C:\Program Files\Enterbrain\RPGXP\System\Game.exe set to run in Compatibility Mode and requiring Admin rights to run. Any suggestions on how I might enjoy the non-open-source games?

That's the worst thing about Vista. You finally get it to work properly, then something goes wrong. For example, I found the original methods to solve any issues installing RMXP on vista (beyond just admin rights and compatability mode for the .exe), and now, It gives me the same error whenever I start the program or its games. Luckily, I bought an XP laptop that it will work on. (And I still have my 8-year old XP desktop that came with windows ME) I would also appreciate a solution to this problem.
