I really hope this is in the right section, if not I apologize!
I am using Hero Edition 3.2, and I want to make an action based game (Like Zelda or Sword of Mana), but I'm having a really hard time understanding the tutorial given here: http://www.atelier-rgss.com/RGSS/Battle/XAS_01a.html
Can anyone break this system down so that it is easier to understand? Everything about this is amazing, I just wish that it was easier to use. I'm a beginner at all of this, but this is what I want to make.

EDIT: For example... it tells me to do this:
Go to the script editor and them to XRXS - XAS, once there look for this code:
ACTION_TEMPLATE_MAP_ID = X
I am in my games script editor, but I see nothing along the lines of XRXS - XAS. This is so confusing...
