I'm Rey_J. When I started using RPG Maker, I took to it like a natural. I started with RM2003 because that was the best one available/I could get to work. I would like to call myself an RPG Master (some of my friends, due to their even lesser skill, refer to me as that), but that's just in events and formats/imports. I suck at maps, and this was made evident to me in my project thread. :blush:

I also don't script, but one day I might be able to. In the meanwhile, though, a lot of the stuff makes sense to me. I came into RMXP.org... well, just check my Public Profile. There are some things it can't hide.

I joined RMXP because I like to talk, especially about RPG Maker and where I live there aren't many people who do. I think I found the forums in search of cool scripts to implement in my games. When I looked through this site, I was amazed! I have great musical sense, but before you get your hopes up, this stuff is just in my mind. If I could make the music real (a definite impossiblity, all factors considered, don't waste your breath telling me it's possible!), it could be some of the best out there, and give my games more uniqueness. I like games... like, video games. And I don't like blood/gore (creeps me out).

My name, Rey_J, may be a bit of a mystery. You see, in anticipation for the U.S. release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl (which wasn't even close to what the fans expected/hoped for), I reviewed the facts, and found my star character (before even playing! I'd dreamt of this for years, actually.); quite literally "star" character, King Dedede. For fun, I checked the Smash Bros. Dojo in Spanish & Japanese, and found King D.'s other names: Rey Dedede and デデデ. The デ looks a lot like an American J, so I substituted the words...

Rey デデデ... Rey JJJ. My name for now. Then Brawl nicknames only have 5 characters max., so I shortened to
Rey J. But then, I couldn't find the spacebar (f***ing cellphone-styled typing! Keyboard was way better, faster, plus it had Japanese symbols. :japfag: (BTW, not sure if this smiley is offensive or not, due to what it's called, no offense intended)), and I ended up with...
Rey_J, a.k.a. Rey_JJJ.

They don't all correspond to words. In most forums, smileys are just faces people use because on the internet no one has one on their own. I'll try and give you the single-word gist, though, if you're kinda lost. This is in order. :D

He was famed for being the cutest person in the entire internet,) it's just a cowboy surely you've seen them before, it's just a dude with a fro surely you've seen them before, it's just a guy with a beard surely you've seen them before, it's just an incredibly hairy person surely you've seen them before, it's just Hercule from Dragonball Z surely you've seen him before, it's just a guy with a gun mothafuckas get down, that's a microwave I really don't know what it's for either, it's just Ash from Pokemon surely you've seen him before, it's just a Wooper surely you've seen them before, it's just a Pikachu surely you've seen them before, and the super saiyan dude is for when you're either so pumped or so angry that you're about ready to just wreck something.

I might be missing the point for a couple, but mostly just pay attention to the expressions and the context. A lot of these smilies don't have a point, so I wouldn't be surprised if you wind up hardly using them at all.

Luck is one part and the other is practice your damn face off, son. Once you get good with music/sprites/events/scripts/whatever else goes into a game things get a lot easier and you get the added social standing of being someone with a skill! :D

Don't freak yourself out or anything regarding your game's quality. That's what the members here are for! If there's something wrong with your game, we'll let you know... Between dunks in boiling oil. :D
