As for the game, I have to say I really like your walls, I've certainly not seen something like it before. Although I think something could be gained from added depth (Perhaps a wider range of colours for the grass tiles, for example). The story is intriguing, but I'm put off by your choice of words (The manner of reference to the Chinese, for example). If you really want to convey a Korea vs China picture within your game, I would suggest using more neutral words, that can be interpreted either way, for example, rather than bastard, perhaps a more diplomatic 'story-tellers' would fit better. I'm against the idea of having a one-sided story, but at least this way you can keep it clean.

hmm dissonance i understand your "theroy" but its far from the truth. First Iam talking about Koguryo not Korean although we are claim it's history i was only talking about Koguryo not the present day Koreans democratic nation.

You could see the records in China, Japan, silla, bakjae,gaya, even far away lands at Vietnam. and please watch your mouth as calling the huns as predessceors of Russia. the Huns which iam descended from are a Mongolia and the Kim's predecessors noway the Russia. and I beleive Russians dont even claim the Huns as there predecessers. just because u ocupy the lands of a country who occupied them before, dosent mean you become it's succesor. and also if you are a Korean you should know that the begining of Japan's first organised government at gushu island is part of Korean history. and gwangagaetwo of Koguryo invaded and ocupied Bakejae, the emperor of backjae ungshin chun hwang fled to his colony at japan called nara bakjae. and there he ordered the bakjae(koguryo/buryeo) race to come and migrate to gushu island. from this formed the yamato nation who are the ancestors of the modern day Japnanese imerial dysnastys. you should also know that ungshin chun hwang's tomb is at modern day OSAKA. also you quote that Korea's land gotten smaller, but present day Korea's lands are the same as it's foundings at 1945. I think you mean that it is alot smaller from its predecessors, hmm well your true but as you know it was a lot bigger about a 100 years ago. for example the Qing dynasty are not a native chinese dynasty. They are decended from people of manchu area called jurchen. hmm as you know the jurchen after it invaded Goryu and claimed a Goryu as a proctocterate it claimed Koguryo as there predecessors and actually they are closer to the actuall people of Koguryo than the Goryo people who claimed 100% suceesers of Koguryo Empire. so i mean that the Qing dynasty who were decendents of Monglos and Koguryo were the largest empire that existed at China maybe excluding the Yuan dynasty.

Dissonance: I agree about Korean sea is not the right name for that sea..
However, East sea is the name that Korean has called for many years...
And no one in Korea called that as Sea of Japan.. (Believe me Im Korean...)
Since this game is made by Korean, I think it isn't wrong to call it as East Sea..
Most people called it as 'Sea of Japan' because... well... Japan is recognized by people around the world more than Korea..

Most people call it the 'sea of japan' because nobody actually cares about the name. Names don't matter at all. They just decided arbitrarily to agree with the japanese, if they agreed with the koreans it would still be the same water in the same spot. Names don't matter!

And about the 'Dokyo'...
As you can see, all the name in the map is written as Korean way...
(All the Chinese city names are not the same way as real Chinese call..)

That's fine, really. I'm generally up for spelling countries/names/etc in the original language, but as long as it's obvious what people are talking about, it's not a big deal.

If the game is about the history of korea then talking about the history of korea is appropriate. Also, we've had non-english games posted here before, last year we had a game posted in entirely japanese. It would be very nice to see it in english, but I doubt anybody would KICK ANYBODY OUT if it's not english. That's stupid.

well, if you've studied world history on a world view, you should first know that Koguryo lands were bigger than this and this the japs and the chinese, mongols aknowledge.

Will the game be about how korea lost all of its land then? Because it has gotten a lot smaller.

What makes you think I'm originally from an english speaking country? I live in canada right now. The only people that existed here before colonization and immigration were the natives, and I'm not descended from natives. My family comes from several non-english speaking nations. :D

There are two ways I can take this, I think I'll have both.

'Story' doesnt always imply a fictional base. To tell a story merely means to relay a series of events. Fact or fiction, both.

And the other way.

This is a game thread, unless I'm very much mistaken. And again, unless I'm duped once more, games have story lines. What you've written in your first post is an introduction and explanation of your game, regardless of its historical value. I will not pretend to know more of your heritage than I actually do, nor dispute it's validity, but in its context as you have written it, it is a story.

I don't think it's fair to be enraged by someone trying to help. If you don't like my wording, I implore you to think of alternate interpretations to what I say before implicating that I, in any way, shape or form, judge you, or what you have to say.

If you really take what I say on a personal level, I'll stop trying to correct this already digressing thread.

The way I understand it, the 'N' word derives from 'Nigeria', it was a word used to refer to Nigerians (Not one I have in my used vocabulary, I hasten to add). It started to become offensive when when ignorant people used it to refer to any of a similar ethnic background. I think that may be what you were trying to say, but worded it rather badly (No offence intended, good sir :smile.

Pretty much, although the extreme-nationalist category as a whole is the major offender here. I've seen Chinese with the same attitude toward Korea too, and it's just as annoyingly ethnocentric. Either way, this thread is a pretty horrible train wreck.
