Resident Evil: Degeneration

Anyone seen or heard of this yet?
I guess I've been living in a cave because I hadn't heard about it till yesterday. It's a CG movie featuring Clair and Leon.
I bought and watched it today.

The cg graphics were something you'd expect from final fantasy, but the lip sync was off. It kinda made it feel like you were watching cutscenes from a game, it works for it I guess. Besides the lips sync there was something about Leon I didn't like. He looks the same as he did in RE4 but prettier. He's eyebrows were thinner and nose was shaped different, also he had the same face expression glued on the whole movie.
Without revealing too much, it starts off with an outbreak of the virus in an airport as part of a terrorist attack. Then to "Wilpharma" a company which popped up after Umbrella.

It had some trailers for RE5, got to say the graphics in that look way better then this AND they got the lip sync right.

It was alright. The plot was fairly simple, which was fine. It was like a typical Resident Evil game. Something random happens that starts the virus outbreak, the protagonists end up in a giant Headquarters/Laboratory/Maze/Emporium, the male lead saves a female character that is exclusive to that game/scenario, the male and female lead hint at a possible love connection, and a Tyrant attacks them but is killed.

It's not amazing, but it's not horrible either. The CG wasn't bad and the lip sync is only off because it would cost thousands and take even longer for them to redo all mouth movements to match the English language. Thus, minor work is done.

What I did like is how Umbrella hid under multiple names. The Resident Evil writers have always done a great job with making Umbrella seem like a living entity of sorts.

I saw the commercial for this, finally. It looked interesting enough, but I've never been a real fan of Resident Evil so odds that I'll actually ever see it are very low. It looked interesting, though - so I guess if your interested to begin with this would probably be a good thing to see.

I saw this the week it came out, loved it XD

didn't buy it, but I never noticed the lip syncing to be of.

over all I liked it though, it really felt like it was shortened version of a resident evil game storyline. Out break, airport map, labmap, boss, end, lol

I thought the CG was really good though. I don't like how Leon looks entirely, he looked cooler in RE4.

The reason the lip syncing is off, is cause the animation of the lips are going with the Japanese voice actor, while for the English version, they just dubbed it, lol, but it's not off by TOO much.

To be honest, I've never really played any of the games too much, I played 1 and 3 (3 was Nemesis, right ?), but none of the others, haven't really been interested, however, I love all the movies, I think they're great.

Just wondering, anyone played the Resident Evil 5 Demo yet for 360/PS3 ? My friends were talking about it today at college, and I YouTubed it, seems like the Zombies are actually civilised or something, lol, except until they see you, they sprint like fuck, and when they get up to you, they just slow down all zombielike again, WTF is up there ? o.O

This person speaks the truth. I downloaded this film long ago and it was worth it. Much more improvement in this one than the last three live action films.

I agree. If the other Resident Evil movies would have been made like this, I think they would have appealed more to fans. I feel that Degeneration was a little bit short for my taste, lol. I would have liked it if it would have been longer.

I watched it and really didn't like it, mostly because I was comparing it to Advent Children though. Regardless of that, the story was boring and the animation wasn't fluid at all. It was somewhat of a dissappointment.
