i released this back in mid june under the moniker "saïnt", but it didn't really get any replies and my computer died fairly soon afterwards so i wasn't able to really PROMOTE IT at all. as such - partly to set some sort of precedent for album releases in the new MA and partly to stroke my ego a bit more than last time - i've decided to rerelease it, this time under the moniker "domowoj" and as part of something more than a one-shot ep release (domowoj is a full-fledged project now!!).

i threw this together yesterday on a bit of a WHIM and it turned out pretty cool imo. it's not really TRADITIONAL MUSIC (far from traditional chiptunes, anyway) so it's probably not for everyone. all sounds were created by loading a rom of dragon quest 3 into nnnesterj and playing around with the audio data in memory and recording the results, which i then opened in soundforge and rearranged/chopped up/pieced together.

man i've been trying to format this shit for an hour fuck smf

also yeah it's not really easy to digest without a predisposition to goofy music but

also it's kindof funny i originally got into the FUCK WITH DATA IN MEMORY thing with the intention of getting more art like that (i got mad stuff here if anyone cares); the SOUND GLITCHING was a complete accident that turned out pretty cool (to me, anyway). happy accidents~

also moog i'm fairly sure i've told you to listen to it like eight times so yeah. this is more for the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK who are weird about what good music is and whether or not they suck or not (if you make stuff like this you are cool i don't care what anybody else says)

you already know i like this alot, its a differant style of music and i am really beginning to love it. I need to really start working on some fresh noise and nes sounds as well but have just been too lazy

but yeah, good stuff, I hope this becomes a gradually growing sound in this forum.

was frogs written in famitracker? or was it just an edit of the nes sound? i like it but it kind of ends abruptly if you know what I mean.

the way i made this stuff is really weird but kindof cool. it's less WRITING and more improvisation.

all the sounds and shit were recorded from glitching dragon quest 3 song/audio data in nnnesterj, the majority of it coming from songs that play before you get any actual gameplay control (the title screen, the weird dragon fight cutscene thing, etc.). i had like two hours' worth of this shit after playing around for a while so i opened the file(s) up in soundforge, found stuff that sounded INTERESTING, and saved them as separate songs.

most of the songs are just mad glitch without any real piecing together outside of trimming; i think the only ones i really did a lot of CUT AND PASTE on were "this equipment has been tested..." and "marijuanacaust". i have like 600 b-sides or whatever on my other computer but since it's dead and i can't access the hard drive there's no way of getting to them just yet. this is just the stuff that MADE THE CUT.

Definitely going to play this a couple times at least. I really like notable mustaches and you'd prefer an astronaut. PENELOPE is cool too.
