Story

Destinia is a relatively peaceful land that hides a monumental secret. Recently, odd stones have been appearing across the continent. Each stone possesses a strange power, unlike anything the world has seen before. Being so rare and powerful, the stones are sought after by several factions. Will you destroy them, use them to your own advantage, or stand idly by as Destinia falls into the hands of darkness?

Alright, you're here. One final warning. Reading below may or may not cause you to lose interest in the game, and I certainly do not want that to happen.

Before Destinia came to exist, thousands of years in the past, there was another world known as Destoria. It was a land consumed by darkness where the good were persecuted. An artificer forged seven beasts from steel and stone, and by using the energy stored in Destoria's minerals, the creatures were animated. Though they possessed no life, they walked among the living, soon becoming known as the Phantom Drones. The Drones set out upon the world as a great war ensued. Destoria was consumed by the fray, and the world was lost to time. As Destoria's energy was drained, the Drones slowly lost power, eventually entering a state of dormancy. Thousands of years later, as the world regrew, Destinia was born. Covered in lush greenery, Destinia is a bountiful land. Now, as the strange stones begin to appear, people begin to investigate. The stones are a link to Destinia's past. They are shards of the old world; the minerals of Destoria. Now that Destoria's negative energy is leeching into Destinia, the world is again succumbing to the darkness. As the energy permeates the land, the Phantom Drones are awakened by its power. They begin a quest to regain control of the very power that created them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/ ... /Tilly.png[/IMG] Tilly Vance- An elf from the Alfheym Village. She is young, for an elf, and naive. Well disciplined, she is an excellent fighter, being both nimble and strong.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/ ... nelope.png[/IMG] Penelope Amphir- A self trained human mage. Certainly not the most physical of fighters, she excels in casting spells from afar.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/ ... Sigurd.png[/IMG] Sir Sigurd York- An elderly knight who now runs an inn. He was once the greatest fighter in Destinia, and is fairly knowledgeable about its past.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v103/ ... 6/Silk.png[/IMG] Silk- A so called "dark" elf. He was banished from Alvhame when, at the age of 12, his hair began losing its elvish blond. For years he has trained and hunted alone in the wild, perfecting his aim and finesse.

There are ten main heroes, and numerous temporary heroes who will join your party. Some for sidequests, some as parts of the main quest.

Along with the stones, these lifeless drones also appeared in Destinia. Their origin is unknown, and their power is immense. They are clearly linked to the stones, but how the two are related is uncertain.

The Valkyrie Knights are a guild of elitists. They believe themselves to be superior to the rest of Destinia. Upon learning of the stones and their power, the Knights seek to control it.

The High Paladins are a righteous group numbering upwards of fifty. Among their ranks are well trained warriors and clerics. They will often provide you with support as you struggle to complete your quest.

Get to know the edge of your seat, because with all the twists being thrown at you, you'll be spending a lot of time together.
Think in terms of the "Tales" series if you want an idea of the epic fable being brought to life.

To start off, all of your screenshots look really awkward. I can't quite put my finger on the reason though...Aside from that, it seems like you're working with almost nothing. For a non-linear game, that might be okay, but from what I've read this is meant to be relatively linear with side-quests. Um, you might have something hidden up your sleeve though, so I guess I'm just going to have to hold my breath.

And when you say "working with almost nothing," in what way do you mean? Features-wise? If so, don't worry, it's a work in progress. I will constantly be adding to the section.

They look awkward because:

The tiles you decided to use don't always match very well.

There are a few map errors on the majority of the screen shots. For example, your perception and leveling doesn't seem to be evident in screen shot # 1 (upper left corner).

I'd like to see more story...so far it seems shallow.

Continue to work on this!
 
Because there's a tree on top of the cliff? Or because the cliff on the left is taller than on the right? If it's the height issue, it works out. If you could see more of the map it would make sense. If it's the tree, well... Trees grow up there too. Heh, I don't know what to say.

And to address the story issue, like I said, there's not much I can reveal without spoiling it. I guess I could add more in a spoiler...

If adding more would spoil the story, your rising action must be extremely short.
 
Hey, this sounds pretty nice. I'm looking forward to playing this game. Anywho, The Battlers are MARVELOUS!!! Did you make those yourself? Just for the Battlers I'd give you a thumbs up. :thumb: Good work, however, it might just be me, but your maps seem kind of, well, Um, Bland. You said in your description that Destinia is a Lush place, well, Im not seeing any lush. That might just be me. Anyway, you get a 7.9 out of 10. PEACE !!!

I've added more of the story. It's not that the rising action is "short" per se, but rather that if I gave you the entire rising action, all you'd have to look forward to is the climax.
 
I have succumbed to temptation :D. As a Icon spriter, I'm always looking for ideas for icons to make. As I was looking over your Beautiful battlers, I noticed that Tilly Vance was in possesion of a most stunning sword, so here is my tribute to it.
 
Updated with additional features.

I will be adding new screens soon. I have toned down the saturation in the tilesets to give it a more realistic feel. I think it helps blend the two together better than before.
